The Other Apple "Fab" Band
After a UK/European only debut as The Iveys, this British pop act newly signed to the Beatles Apple Records label was rechristened Badfinger and the magic took off! Throughout the
mid-1970's and up until it's release on
CD in the mid-1990's, this album was
very hard to find, but well worth it!
"Come And Get It" was written by Paul
McCartney, giving his label mates a good strong single to kick off this band's worldwide debut. "Crimson Ship"
another "single that should have been,"
great pop hooks as is in "Dear Angie."
"Carry On Till Tomorrow" is a haunting
melodic flowing number, while "Knocking
Down Our Home" is a sad lament indeed.
This cd is well worth it even without
the bonus tracks, but Apple serves up
two winners. "Storm In A Teacup" was a
very rare number which only was released on a very rare British promotional album which tied in to a
popular British ice cream. "Arthur"
is a little ditty about a naughty
milkman. Badfinger was one band that
could have been a incredible force in
the 1970's diet of music, but sadly met
with tragedy due to it's state of
mismanagement and being ripped off so
much. Singer/writer Peter Ham took his
life out of this despair in 1975, and
just as sadly, Tom Evans also did the
same in 1983. This album, along with
later efforts "No Dice" and "Straight
Up" are incredible classic examples of
great British pop, they had some great
influence but also were very talented
to boot!

The best
Their debut album is still their best! Of course you have "Come and Get It," but there are even better songs on here such as "Beautiful and Blue," "Maybe Tomorrow" and so many more.

great album with problems
A classic! but didn't get the treatment it deserves. remaster sounds the same as previous version and doesn't have the origonal gatefold album cover, therefore.. overpriced
