| | Masta Killa Made In Brooklyn CD (2006)
2nd II None album
$11.59 On MADE IN BROOKLYN, hip-hop heads get a chance to see just how far Masta Killa has come as an MC. Since his first appearance on "Da Mystery of Chessboxin," Killa was noted for his stylistic similarities to the GZA. From the late '90s on, his flow has evolved into one of the most understated deliveries in hip-hop--a chillingly straightforward minimalist monotone. MADE IN BROOKLYN is a solid effort, thanks largely to participation from a slew of super-producers (including MF Doom, PF Cuttin', and Pete Rock) as well as appearances from the usual Shaolin mic-specialists. On the whole, it's a good omen for the Wu--who've been through their share of ups and downs--that even their most underrated MC can put together a thorough album as they gear up for another comeback.
| | Mighty Joseph Vast Aire & Kar Empire State CD (2008)
2nd II None CD music
$11.95 Vast Aire is from the galaxy of Harlem. Karniege is from the galaxy of Brooklyn. They Collided in Washington Irving Highschool and formed a decade long aliance that would lead to a freindship in life and partnership in mic wrecking. Empire State was shaped over a three year period, it unravels a unique perspective, documenting not only personal change between the two emcees but also the changes in the streets of New York City. From Poverty, to the September 11th attacks, to the abuse of Hip Hop culture in general, Empire State stands strong as a snapshot of the city. This Album is the voice of a city that never sleeps being recited by emcees who should never be slept on.
