Death includes: Chuck Schuldiner (vocals, bass, guitar); Chirs Reifert (drums). Death Scream Bloody Gore Songs Scream Bloody Gore Music Review Average Rating: (4.6 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Enter Chuck What a great album and this is not even his best. I don't listen to a lot of music with gory lyrics, but I do enjoy this one. Chuck Schuldiner is one of the pioneers of an entire genre of metal. His early stuff, such as this album, is more thrashy, while his later stuff is more progressive. His death is a great loss to modern music. A classic I saw this on CD and I had to order it right away, seeing that my tape copy is falling apart. And not only did I get it on CD, I got two extra tracks, Beyond the Unholy Grave and Land Of No Return, for a total of 12 crushing tunes. Scream Bloody Gore is the first album by DEATH and naturally their most primitive, but is still more technical that most brutal death bands out there. The guitars wreak havoc, giving hint of the guitar hero that Chuck Schuldiner will become, the drums destroy and Chuck's voice makes your skin crawl, not your standard death growl, it's a few piches higher and sounds almost raw. The best here are Baptized In Blood, Denial Of Life and the title track. But the rest do not lack any punch. The extra tracks clearly come from the same time and are definitly worth putting on here. If death metal is your thing, grab this and prepaired to get pulverized. This is a classic that cannot be denied. Submitted by travisragmanwilson (Oskaloosa, IA. USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
The legacy of the ver ybest extreme metal band begins! This is where it all began. In 1987, Scream Bloody Gore was released. At the time many Death demos had been heard and this release was long-awaited to say the least. The production is minimal and there aren't too many fringes here, but this is one of the very first death metal albums ever released and influenced and inummerable amount of bands...and still continues to do so.
The songs are all at lightning-speed tempos, and relentlessly heavy. Chuck Schuldiner's inhuman vocals are extremely deep, rough and...for the most part indecipherable...a vocal style that would influence countless bands. You'll be hard pressed to find melody here except for in a few of the short solo's. Chuck Schuldiner would end up to become one of the most technical and complex guitarists in extreme metal history, but at this point he was not quite the guitarist he would end up being...though it's obvious he was very original and had a very, very clear vision. Vision is the most important thing as musician and Chuck Schuldiner was oozing it.
The lyrics are pretty much based on B-rate horror films...which I love so it kicks ass! With song titles like "Regurgitated Guts" and "Evil Dead" you can also expect some pretty gruesome and gory lyrics...and there is no shortage of that. Some lyrics on this album are similar to the kind of lyrics Cannibal Corpse would end up writing some years after this release.
Take note that althought it says John Hand plays rhythm guitar on this album...this is not true. He joined the band shortly after this album was recorded and showed up on the record sleeve...however, Chuck dismissed him before so much as one gig. So officially, John Hand never played a single not with Death...live nor in the studio. Chuck Schuldiner does both guitars, bass and vocals! He's incredible. The only duty he didn't pick up was the drums.
The re-released version contans two bonus tracks which are Land Of No Return and Beyond The Unholy Grave which were supposed to originally appear on the album, but were cut. If you order from here, you will get this version.
I would say the stand out tracks here are Zombie Ritual (played at just about every live Death performance...ever), Evil Dead and Infernal Death. The whole album will have you flipping out and headbanging though...with a doubt.
In closing, this is the start of the legacy of Chuck Schuldiner and Death. This genius would on to write the most meaningful, complex, technical and inspiring masterpieces ever in ulta-hard music. This album is very different than later releases such as Individual Thought Patterns and The Sound Of Perseverance, but you can definitely sense the musical mastermind Chuck Schuldiner would become listening to this album. God bless you, Chuck Schuldiner...you will never be forgotten. We love you...LET THE METAL FLOW!

I love this album This album seems to get a lot of hate from hardcore Death fans. This is my favorite album next to Human, it paved the way for death metal for years to come. Sure it may not be the death you got used to when you first heard them, but this is still an amazing album that defines the genre. The production isn't great but it serves the purpose of the album. The guitar tone is nice and fun to listen too. The lyrics are fairly good for a debut. The vox are amazing as usual.

Metal oh, sweet metal... Though this is NOT the first death metal album, it is death metal. And furthermore should not apologize for not being technically great. It's a great album based around movies that are not techniclly great-Yes, my friends the B-Movies so, lay off "Yeah". Respect the 'Bloody Gore'! Submitted by mythril (Texas) Was This Review Helpful? | | Jah Wobble Mu CD (2005)
Scream Bloody Gore
$13.35 A sublimely enjoyable dub-influenced ambient and electronic outing by Jah Wobble, the British bassist who first came to fame as a member of John Lydon's Public Image Ltd. MU is a series of instrumental workouts that take their inspiration from ancient religion and modern trash culture in equal measure. "Viking Funeral" is propelled by its mighty bass figure and an appealing vocal chorus, the jazzy funk of "Kojak Dub" conjures the sweaty streets of 1970s New York, and "New Mexico Dub" performs the same trick for sun-baked Southwestern border towns. Wobble excels in playing the thunderous, loping bass lines of his reggae heroes, while the subtle mix of acoustic and electronic instrumentation gives these pieces an almost cinematic sweep.
Personnel include: Jah Wobble (vocals, keyboards, bass guitar, programming); Satomi Takada (spoken vocals); Mark Lusardi (guitar, keyboards, programming); Chris Cookson (guitar); Sylvia Hallett (sarangi, viola); Clive Bell (flute, shakuhachi, pipes, background vocals); Jean-Pierre Rasle (pipes, background vocals); Harry Beckett (trumpet).
