On point
The revolution may not be televised but you can get a earful of it with this cd... The struggle finally has a sound.

A must-have
This record reveals the cream of GSH's "black Dylan" years. Unexpected, the songwriter surprised everybody with strong political lyrics, distinctive voice and superb instrumental background (and, of course, the pioneer steps into what the world calls 'rap'). True World music. Highly recommended.

A very political pioneer
When I first purchased this, I had no idea that I would be holding one of my favorite albums, not to mention an album that has long changed my life since the first time I listened to it. It has all that you could possibly want in an album: Great instrumentation, soulful vocals, smart and political lyrics, groovy melodies, and it doesn't sound too out of date, considering all the songs were recorded between 1970-1972. I remember when I first heard the song "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" and thinking, what the hell is he talking about? Well, to this day, I still don't what the hell he is talking about, but maybe that's the beauty of it. Hip-hop heads, listen to this album and see if you can find at least 5 songs on here that have been sampled from the hip-hop crowd. The easiest one is, of course, gonna be "I'm On My Way Home" by Kanye West sampling "Home Is Where The Hatred Is".
