(2 Customer Reviews)
Alabama is country music's most successful and popular group and GREATEST HITS VOL. III presents eleven powerful arguments why. This successful quartet from Fort Payne (Alabama, of course) is best known for their catalogue of Southern-fried ... Full Descriptionrock, Randy Owen's searing ballads, and their populist anthems. Combining two new cuts, (including the current hit "We Can't Love Like This Anymore,") with eight previously released chart-toppers and one remixed vocal version of "Angels Among Us," this hits compilation doesn't disappoint. Alabama offers up selections from seven different albums, representing a good perspective of a band whose sound has hardly changed over its long career.
The mostly slow-paced collection includes the early-in-the-career "Tennessee River," the fiddle-driven rave-up "If You're Gonna Play In Texas (You've Gotta Have A Fiddle In The Band)," and their beautiful country/pop duet, "Face To Face," with K.T. Oslin.
It says a lot for Randy, Jeff, Teddy, and Mark that their sound is so powerful and has touched so many people that they are on their third greatest hits package and they've barely scratched the surface.
Recorded at Sound Emporium, Nashville, Tennessee between 1983 and 1994.

Greatest Hits Vol. 3 album
$8.09 In 1975, Reuniting with longtime producer Bob Ezrin (who was absent for Cooper's prior record, MUSCLE OF LOVE), Cooper released an album whose title explains the subject matter--WELCOME TO MY NIGHTMARE. Now on his own and in total control, Cooper was able to explore rock theatrics in a way that was impossible in his band. The ensuing tour was one of the most over-the-top excursions of that era.
"Cold Ethyl" is a disturbing little ditty about necrophilia. The soft, melodic "Only Women Bleed" became a surprise smash for Alice, and there's a low-key feel as well on the chilling "Steven." ...
| | Paint The Sky With Stars: The Best Of Enya CD (1997)
Greatest Hits Vol. 3 CD music
$13.65 Enya created a style whose wide open soundscapes were reminiscent of New Age, but more melodic, heavily based on the traditional Celtic music that formed much of her early singing career. This synthesis of styles proved marketable: ...
| | Brooks & Dunn Greatest Hits Collection CD (1997)
Greatest Hits Vol. 3 music CDs
$10.45 A greatest hits collection is almost a redundancy for this chart-topping contemporary country duo, since nearly everything they touch turns to gold (if not platinum). Nevertheless, this compilation condenses the band's catalog, including three brand new tracks, into 19 sparkling gems of country-pop, bound to please both longtime fans and curious first-timers. They're all here, from the band's stellar cover of the pop hit "My Maria" to beer-swiggin' jukebox faves like "Boot Scootin' Boogie" and "Honky Tonk Truth."
What comes across most strongly on this album is the consistency ...
| | Misfits Walk Among Us CD (1982)
Greatest Hits Vol. 3 songs
$8.49 If the Misfits were one of the greatest punk bands then WALK AMONG US s perhaps one of the greatest records in punk history. While STATIC AGE and EARTH A.D. showcased a band searching for an identity like a vampire for its next victim, WALK AMONG US is almost sheer perfection. With a solidified lineup, fully grown-out devillocks (the Misfits trademark long spike of hair in the front) and the ...
| | Toby Keith Greatest Hits Vol. 1 CD (1998)
Greatest Hits Vol. 3 album
$10.39 Toby Keith may not be as much of a household name as his former touring partner Shania Twain, but he's quietly racked up a string of fine country hits since his brilliant 1993 debut single "Should've Been A Cowboy." GREATEST HITS highlights Keith's two main gifts: his resonant, distinctive voice and his knack for writing thoughtful, mature songs about relationships. Hits like "Who's That Man," "We Were In Love" and "Wish I Didn't Know Now" tackle big themes like broken ...
