The booklet for this disc contains a drawing of a huge mechanical gear, and that about sums up La Bouche's approach to dance music. This is relentless, machine-made music, the kind that has always (and will always) filled the world's dance floors with sweating, churning bodies. It's not entirely synths and sequencers, though. Melanie Thornton throws a soulful element into the mix--her solid voice. It rides on top of the incessant disco stomp of the hit "Sweet Dreams" (heavily borrowed from Eurythmics), and winds around the sinewy remake of the ubiquitous '70s smash "Fallin' in Love" (originally done by Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds). Yes, thanks to La Bouche, the beat goes on...and on...and on.

Good Buy!!
If you want good, pumpin' high NRG Eurodance music, then this is the CD for you! Enough said, just buy the CD. I'm not a representative for CD Universe, I'm just a college student that likes to dance, so I guess you can say that I'm an expert (a-hem).

Brian McKnight's lone set of non-Christmas material for Warner Bros., 2006's TEN, peaked exactly where his previous six proper albums topped out (within the Top Five of Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop chart), yet he finds himself on E1 (formerly Koch) for EVOLUTION OF A MAN. Though he has written and produced plenty of his own material in the past, he did it all on this one, and presumably provided much of its instrumentation. It's a set that is predominantly slow, sparse, and intimate. Most of the album's last two-thirds offers familiar McKnight fare -- sensitive, soothing backdrops that are at least comforting when not uplifting. No doubt about it, Drake blew up big time in 2009. The one-time TV actor (from DEGRASSI HIGH: THE NEXT GENERATION) hooked up with Lil Wayne a couple years previously, worked the mixtape and collabo circuit for a spell and then suddenly hit with the song "Best I Ever Had." The song was taken from the SO FAR GONE mixtape and became the top summer jam of 2009.
