"Genie In A Bottle" was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
"What A Girl Wants" was nominated for the 2001 Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
Christina Aguilera rocketed to the top of the charts with the smash hit "Genie in a Bottle" from this self-titled debut and placed herself among a leading generation of young, multi-talented pop artists. Like fellow performers Britney Spears, J.C. and Justin of 'N Sync, and actress Keri Russell, who stars in the TV show Felicity, Aguilera is a graduate of the New Mickey Mouse Club television program.
Songs such as "What a Girl Wants" with its guitar-driven melody, and the soulful gospel strain of "So Emotional" show Christina Aguilera's polish. Some of the other tracks that stand out are the powerful "I Turn to You," which was written by Diane Warren; "Reflection," which was produced by Matthew Wilder; and the dance floor mover "Love Will Find a Way," from hit makers Carl Sturken and Evan Rogers.
Always one for a remix, Madonna follows the AMERICAN LIFE album with an EP that includes alternate mixes of four album tracks. "Nothing Fails (Nevins Mix)" glides along on an acoustic guitar line and skittering, distorted beats, while 1980s revisionists Mount Sims take on "Nobody Knows Me" with a dirty keyboard/vocoder barrage. Finally the Headcleanr rock mixes of "Love Profusion" and "American Life" are energetic, guitar-heavy versions of the originals.
Also included on REMIXED & REVISITED is a live recording of the Material Girl's show-stopping 2003 MTV Video Music Awards performance of her "Like a Virgin" and "Hollywood" medley, featuring the additional diva trinity of Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, and Missy Elliott. On "Into the Hollywood Groove," Missy pops by again for a studio fusion of Madonna's "Into the Groove" and the aforementioned "Hollywood." Topping ev

CHRISTINA'S DEBUT IS SMASHING In her debut album,CHRISTINA has a little bit of everything. Including hits such as GENIE IN A BOTTLE,WHAT A GIRL WANTS,I TURN TO YOU AND COME ON OVER ALL I WANT IS YOU. All the songs are gems, however the one song I just thought was fair is SO EMOTIONAL. I like this album more than any other one of her recordings. Submitted by Joel (Miami Fla.) BABY ONE MORE TIME is an Enhanced CD containing a full audio program as well as multimedia computer files.
Jimmy Bradlower (drum programming); Nana Hedin, Jeanette Soderholm, Anders Von Hoffsten, Andreas Carlson, Aleese Simmons, Andrew Fromm, Nikki Gregoroff (background vocals).
Britney Spears takes her rightful place among bubble gum pop icons at the turn of the millennium with BABY ONE MORE TIME. Earlier known for her part in Disney's revamped "Mickey Mouse Club," Britney successfully turned singer at a mere 16 years of age. She navigates the choppy waters of young love with style, passion and lots of fun. She's got all the charm of '80s forebears like ...

"Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely" was nominated for the 2001 Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.
The Backstreet Boys self-titled 1997 debut album endeared the group to millions of teens and pre-teens with its radio-friendly blend of pop harmonies and danceable beats. MILLENNIUM finds the Boys in the unenviable position of following up the mind-blowing success of the first album. Less ambitious artists might wither under such pressure, but the Backstreet Boys beat the dreaded sophomore slump in style. In the tradition of the ...

$8.99 NO STRINGS ATTACHED was nominated for the 2001 Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album. "Bye Bye Bye" was nominated for the 2001 Grammy Award for Record Of The Year and for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.
It would be easy to dismiss N Sync off the cuff as the second band to reach popularity in a passing fad (the resurgence of photogenic boy groups). With the success of fellow Orlando-ites Backstreet Boys, one might assume N Sync would be forever overshadowed. However, when you sell 2.4 million copies of one record in its first week, you've pretty much earned the removal of the epithet, "passing fad." On NO STRINGS, N Sync pulls off feats of wonder through taking a formula and injecting it with stronger twists of talent than many of their competitors.
"Space Cowboy (Yippie-Ki-Yay)" features TLC's Left Eye and the combined force actually manages some funk Rick James could admire. ...

This second album by the former Mouseketeer turned nymphet heartthrob breaks little new ground compared to BABY ONE MORE TIME. The formula here remains, deliberately, the same: a candy-colored mix of Eurodance, hip-hop, and old-fashioned pop ballads. As before, the lyrics split the difference between "Baby, I love you so bad," as in "Can't Make You Love Me," and "Sorry, I think of you just as a friend," in the title song.
There are also some genuinely amusing moments, as in the conversational finale of "Oops!" in which Britney, after being informed that her boyfriend has recovered ...
