Piano solos and songs were recorded in May, June and July, 1942, and the orchestral score was recorded in September, 1942. Includes liner notes by Rudy Behlmer.

Includes one bonus track sung by Dooley Wilson from Harold Arlen & Yip Harburg's BLOOMER GIRL.

A great deal of Casablanca's allure throughout the years can be attributed directly to the film's music; few songs strike so resonant a chord with moviegoers as does "As Time Goes By," and Dooley Wilson's performance of the tune remains its definitive reading. Assembling music from the film's score in tandem with snatches of dialogue, Rhino's release of the Casablanca soundtrack is essential stuff for the film's many passionate fans. ~ Raymond McKinney

This CD is not a typical musical soundtrack. It does include the great music featured in the movie but adds movie excerpts with dialogue and background orchestration. It takes you through the story as an audio book would - but only the best parts! I would recommend this soundtrack as a great way to pass the time on a road trip - enjoy!
