Dust On The Bible CD music
$14.39 Audacious as ever, the Austin-based country rockers Bad Livers continue to perfect their songwriting skills on INDUSTRY AND THRIFT. The Livers have come a long way since their inception as a band, when they covered rock songs (ranging from Iggy Pop to Motorhead) in a hyper-bluegrass style all their own. On their fifth album, the Livers consist of a core duo of bassist Mark Rubin and Danny Barnes on banjo and vocals, surrounded by an extended musical family (including a trademark loudmouth tuba). All manage ...

Dust On The Bible songs
$9.09 All tracks have been digitally mastered using HDCD technology.
Griffith followed the success of OTHER VOICES, her tribute to her favorite songwriters, with FLYER, an album focusing on original material. It didn't take her long, though, to begin plowing anew the fertile fields of modern song. OTHER VOICES, TOO finds her tackling tunes by estimable "modern" folk artists such as Richard Thompson, Sandy Denny and Ian Tyson, as well as standards by Woody Guthrie and Stephen Foster.
Griffith's vocal partners on OTHER VOICES, TOO are a luminous group as well. Lucinda Williams lends her voice to "Wings of a Dove." John Prine duets with Griffith on "The Streets of Baltimore." Even idiosyncratic folk legend Dave Van Ronk joins in on this modern-day hootenanny, adding his trademark gruff vocal style to the traditional tune "He Was A Friend of Mine."
Recorded at Jack's Tracks Studio and Woodland Studio, Nashville, Tennesse; Windmill Lane Studio, Dublin, Ireland; Back Pocket Studio, New York, New York; Scream Studios, Studio City, California. Includes liner notes by Susanna Clark, Jim Rooney & Nanci Griffith.

| | Robbie Fulks Georgia Hard CD (2005)
Dust On The Bible CD music
$13.49 With his first few albums in the 1990s, Robbie Fulks established himself as a premier alt-country artist. Subsequently, he took a couple of career detours, with a major-label rock album and a self-released "arty" singer/songwriter effort. GEORGIA HARD finds Fulks not just returning to his roots, but distilling his talent to its finest point to date.
On this 2005 release, he effectively jettisons the "alt" prefix, delivering a straightforward country album with clear roots in the kind of music that forward-looking artists like Roger Miller and Tom T. Hall were turning out in the Nashville of 30-plus years prior. In that era, Fulks's masterful songwriting, emotive vocal style, and flawless production would likely have earned him as many country hits as critical plaudits. In the time of Toby Keith and Kenny Chesney, it's harder to imagine the old-school drinking song "Each Night I Try" or the thoughtful story-song "If They Could Only See Me Now" racking up Grammys. However, that hardly seems like the ultimate goal ...
