Greg Kyryluk records his electronic space music as Alpha Wave Movement. For his rhythmic electro-tribal ambience, he records as Open Canvas. Indumani is his second release under that pseudonym. It is steeped in Middle Eastern and Indian instrumentation. Kyryluk builds his soundscapes on ethnic instruments and vocal samples. He augments the ethnicity with synth riffs and sequences. He blends traditional and contemporary rhythms to forge a unique hybrid. A heavy techno rhythm tops the soundworld nicely. This disc will appeal to fans of Omar Faruk Tekbilek, Jamshied Sharifi, Al Gromer Khan, and Robyn Miller. It is essential electro-tribal ambience. ~ Jim Brenholts

| | Vanden Plas Spirit Of Live CDs (2000)
Indumani CD music
$11.39 This live recording proves that Vanden Plas is not just a studio band. The group performs very potent and faithful renditions of songs from all of its albums, but the largest chunk of material is from the latest studio release Far Off Grace. Once again, Vanden Plas shows that, although it does have some strong Dream Theater leanings, the band's sound is all its own. And, it is a great ...
| | It Bites Eat Me In St Louis CD (1989) (Import) United Kingdom
Indumani music CDs
$11.79 Possibly the first of the new-styled progressive rock bands, It Bites made an impression with musicians throughout both the prog and metal/hard rock schools of music. This album, their final release, was a collection of both previously released and new material. The disc shows that they truly were one of the first bands to successfully merge progressive rock with a more pop-oriented mode. The Roger Dean cover surely pulled a lot of Yes fans into buying the disc. The music really is sort of a more modern rock take on classic prog bands like Yes and Genesis. The band was composed of Francis Dunnery, Dick Nolan, Bob Dalton, and John Beck. In retrospect, the sound can come off as a bit dated, but there is still plenty here to make the album listenable. The disc probably appeals to musicians more than non-musicians, but is an all-around ...

Indumani album
$14.39 THE STARGAZER'S JOURNEY takes ambient music to a cosmic level. Jonn Serrie has pioneered the genre of "space music" in his long career as a composer for such distinguished clients as NASA, Lucasfilm Ltd., and New York City's Hayden Planetarium. While other New ...
| | Sounds From The Ground Luminal CD (2004)
Indumani CD music
$13.49 The fourth album from ambient shakers Sounds from the Ground, finds the two Londoners Nick Woolfson and Eliot James stepping back from the vocal-heavy warmth of NATURAL SELECTION and heading into a more chillbient, dub-style territory. There's still plenty of positive energy here; the soul shaking "Move On" has a sultry female vocal cooing over a wavy trip-hop groove that sounds just as ready for meditation as it ...

| | Bed Light For Blue Eyes Life On Life's Terms CD (2007)
Indumani songs
$9.49 Although they are often lumped in with the emo set because of their made-to-order haircuts, tattoo sleeves, and clever moniker (even their chosen record company, Trustkill, where such bands thrive), Bedlight for Blue Eyes are a pop/rock band through and through, as commercially viable as your average Nickelbacks, Daughtrys, or 3 Doors Downs -- only lacking in the major-label money and muscle that would normally guarantee them the same measure of mainstream ubiquity. OK, so their frustratingly frequent personnel turnovers from album to album haven't helped the group's cause, but for their third long-player, 2007's Life on Life's Terms, the New Jersey quartet has arguably crafted its most consistent collection of songs yet, just brimming with big hooks, sparkling melodies, and anthemic choruses -- many of them capable of converting new fans on first listen. What's more, the band shows a real appreciation for '80s rock and AOR on standout tracks like "Waste My Time" and "Too Late for Us," which wouldn't sound aesthetically misplaced on one of those classic old John Mellencamp, Bryan Adams, or Eddie Money records (the jury's out on "Ms. Shapes," which sounds more like Winger!), and yet they may feel utterly foreign ...
