This collection of music from across the Jewish Diaspora shows the diverse influences that Jewish culture has absorbed over the years. From Arabic-influenced Sephardic sounds to the jazzy styles of modern kezmer to the Middle Eastern dance-pop of Ofra Haza, this collection goes around the world and back to present the sound of a people. This compilation hangs together better than most of the comprehensive offerings from Putumayo and contains some real winners like Haza's "Rachamin" and "Di Goldene Pave" from the Klezmatics featuring Chava Albertstein. ~ Stacia Proefrock
