| | Diana Krall Christmas Songs CD (2005)
Baroque Guitar / Julian Bream
$10.99 On 2005's CHRISTMAS SONGS, Diana Krall applies her sultry vocals and nuanced piano lines to a strong set of holiday classics. In addition to turning in a stirring performance of "The Christmas Song" that would make Nat "King" Cole proud, Krall eases into a swaying version of "Winter Wonderland" and a lush rendition of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." With its dynamic arrangements and pitch-perfect mix of pop and jazz, this album stands alongside other timeless Yuletide outings.
Personnel: Diana Krall (vocals, piano); Anthony Wilson, Russell Malone (guitar); Stefon Harris (vibraphone); John Clayton, Robert Hurst, Ben Wolfe (double bass); Jeff Hamilton (drums).

A must for the (guitar)music lover As a long-time fan of Julian Bream I purchased this cd years ago, then made a mistake by lending it out. I never got it back, and if you buy this cd you'll know why! I spent quite some time trying to find it again and am glad my efforts paid off! Thank you, CD Universe! To (guitar)music connoisseurs, aficionado's and the like, this in the sixties recorded work of Juilan Bream represents a true gem of Baroque Guitar Art...yes... in capital letters! It has been digitally remastered with the musiclover in mind: that is without radical noise-suppressing techniques in order to preserve the full-frequency quality of the original recording, thus preserving Julian's stunning beautiful language! Do yourself (or somebody else, like I did) a favour, buy it! Submitted by Thijs Ruhrup (The Hague, Netherlands) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
