Entertainment Weekly (5/22/92, p.74) - "..Indigo Girls' honey-blond harmonies are lustrous.." - Rating: B- Q (1/01, p.124) - 3 out of 5 stars - "...Rocks harder and includes a spooky cover of Dire Straits' 'Romeo & Juliet'....The Indigo Girls are well worth wallowing in." Down Beat (8/92, p.47) - 4 Stars - Very Good - "..shows a new level of maturity...good music, pure and simple, which is to say it's neither pure nor simplistic.."
What a contrast! I was completely amazed by the beauty of the harmonies on this CD. Tracks like "Ghost" and "Up on an Airplane" are worth listening to over and over again for no other reason than that. BUT....the flip side is some really bent lyrics on songs like "Chicken Man" (Where did the inspiration come for that title???). You make lick them but I prefer to pick between the coal to find the diamonds. The cover of Dire Straits "Romeo and Juliet" is absolutely stupendous...
