Sex & The City Sex And The City Soundtrack CD

Witty, sophisticated, and sexy are all words that have been used to describe HBO's smash SEX AND THE CITY series. Those same adjectives can also be applied to the soundtrack from this series. This dance-heavy compilation of music is predictably laced with truckloads of sexual innuendo while featuring a variety of genres.

Included in this range are Trisha Yearwood's lush countrypolitan balladry ("For Only You"), Reiss easing into some slinky Caribbean flavored chest thumping ("Got the Girl") and Tom Jones and Mousse-T's tasty Hi-NRG Europop ("Sexbomb"). Other highlights included Aimee Mann's shimmering kiss-off "Calling it Quits," Bette Midler pouring herself into an achingly soulful cover of Teddy Pendergrass' "Love TKO," and Joan Osborne belting out "Righteous Love," a songwriting collaboration with troubadour Joseph Arthur. Among the other aural bons mots are The Dust Brothers' jittery cover of the Andrea True Connection disco classic "More, More, More," and the sensual ambiance of Groove Armada's "Sex and the City Theme."

Out of print in the U.S.! The Sex & The City movie, released in the summer of 2008, has raised interest in the original HBO series and this popular soundtrack. Sex & The City was truly a TV phenomenon. Since it's original run on HBO, there have been many network shows that tried to copy it's winning formula, but in the end, none of them succeeded because no other show had the guts that Sex & The City had. The show has continued it's popularity, spawning a theatrical release in 2008! This release was the first collection of songs taken from the series.
