This remastered edition of the 1951 Decca Original Cast album of GUYS & DOLLS
also contains four bonus tracks taken from the 1955 film starring Marlon Brando, Frank Sinatra and Jean Simmons.

Recorded on December 3, 1950 and November 30, 1955. Originally released on Decca (8036). Includes original LP liner notes by Louis Untemeyer and reissue liner notes by Max O. Preeo and Brian Drutman.
One of the great musicals of all time, GUYS & DOLLS has been produced countless times on stages from Broadway to Main Street, U.S.A. The mythical world of gamblers and gun molls seems never to lose its allure; the plight of Nathan Detroit and his bid to outdo the conniving Sky Masterson is loaded with comedy, romance, and, most of all, music. Frank Loesser's songs turn common criminals into singing and dancing stars. Some of the most memorable Broadway songs are contained in Loesser's amazing score, including "A Bushel and Peck," "If I Were a Bell," and "Luck Be a Lady." And hearing Robert Alda and Sam Levene originate their roles as a couple of crooning hooligans makes this record an indispensable artifact.
