Although it offers nothing new from Larnelle, First Love is a typically classy, enjoyable outing from the contemporary gospel, highlighted by his rich, warm voice and a tuneful set of material. Only a few of the songs make a lasting impression, but the entire record is thoroughly enjoyable. ~ Rodney Batdorf Larnelle Harris First Love Songs Purchase First Love CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | James Ingram Forever More (Love Songs, Hits & Duets) CD (1999)

| | Jim Brickman Picture This CD (1997)
First Love CD music
$7.59 Principally recorded at Megatrax Studios, North Hollywood, California from July to August 1996; The Hit Factory, New York, New York from May to June 1996; WallyWorld, San Rafael, California between August and October 1996.

Jim Brickman's accomplished composing and piano playing paint a musical picture that remains in some way a constantly blank canvas, always open to the listener's interpretations. The songs on PICTURE THIS, his third album, have the simple, memorable melodies and easy catchiness of pop music, but also a potent sense of emotion and intimacy. Country singer Martina McBride joins Brickman on "Valentine," which features the utterly unpretentious and unapologetically romantic lyrics, "Even ...
| | Ambrosia Anthology CD (1997)
First Love music CDs
$6.15 For various legal reasons, no Ambrosia recordings were released on compact disc in America until 1997's Anthology, and while it's an imperfect collection, it does offer a reasonably thorough overview of the group's career. It only briefly touches on their early art rock records, choosing to concentrate instead on their early-'80s soft rock hits like "Biggest Part of Me," "You're the Only Woman," and "How Much I Feel." As a result, dedicated prog rock fans will find this collection inadequate, but for most casual listeners, it will contain everything they need and then some, since the disc is padded with three new songs that are pleasant. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

| | Bruce Springsteen We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions CD (2006) With DVD; American Land Edition
First Love songs
$15.95 The AMERICAN LAND EDITION contains five bonus tracks and, in addition to the DVD documentary included in previous editions, four bonus live videos from the 2006 tour.
Bruce Springsteen is certainly no stranger to acoustic-based, folk-inspired music. He began his career as a post-Dylan troubadour, and he's been making "unplugged" albums as far back as 1982's NEBRASKA. He's already recorded Woody Guthrie material, so it's not a shock that he would release a tribute album to folk icon Pete Seeger. WE SHALL OVERCOME: THE SEEGER SESSIONS celebrates not just Seeger's musical influence, of course, but also the political stands the singer took, which obviously resonate with the famously progressive Springsteen.
Unlike NEBRASKA, though, this is no bare-bones affair. The E Street Band may be absent, but Bruce tackles Seeger's tunes in classic larger-than-life Boss style, with a huge band that includes several string players, a horn section, accordion, and more. Incorporating everything ...
| | Alison Krauss Hundred Miles Or More: A Collection CD (2007)
First Love album
$14.05 Although the subtitle suggests that A HUNDRED MILES OR MORE is just a standard greatest hits set, this anthology is actually something far more useful. The career-spanning 16-track set gathers nearly all of Alison Krauss's soundtrack appearances, guest shots on other folks' albums, tribute songs, and a handful of other rarities. By gathering all this material in one place, it's a hugely useful album for fans, but on its own musical merits, A HUNDRED MILES OR MORE contains some of Alison Krauss's best work. Highlights include "Down to the River to Pray," her haunting a cappella addition to the Grammy winning O BROTHER WHERE ART THOU soundtrack, and her version of Elvis Costello's "The Scarlet Tide" ...
| | Michael Jackson Thriller CD (1982) Remastered; 25th Anniversary Edition
First Love CD music
$15.95 Few albums in pop music history have the legacy of Michael Jackson's THRILLER. Not only was the 1983 landmark one of the biggest-selling albums ever, its influence touched R&B, quiet storm, rock, hip-hop, and practically every other genre in the decades that followed. The 25th ANNIVERSARY ...

| | Lounge Tribute To Eminem CD (2002)
First Love songs
$14.29 On the surface, this release is a cheeky attempt to cash in on Mathers' infamy. But Lounge Tribute to Eminem just might be the ultimate signifier of how truly ensconced Marshall Mathers has become in the hearts, minds, and wallets of suburban America. While Will Smith's milquetoast raps made him a household ...
