| | Juno Reactor Bible Of Dreams CD Juno Reactor Discography of CDs
(4 Customer Reviews)
All too often, techno recordings that sounded exciting in the clubs of the late '80s and early to late '90s didn't hold up well at home, where their limitations became quite obvious. Bible of Dreams, on the other hand, is interesting both on and off the dancefloor. Instead of simply concerning itself with the number of beats per minute it can provide, Juno Reactor delivers trance to sit down and listen to. The mostly instrumental material (though with scattered soundbites and samples) is varied, and the group fuses trance with everything from Middle Eastern music ("God Is God") to heavy metal ("Swamp Thing"). ~ Alex Henderson

Juno=love whether you like any electronic music or not, you will love this album. High energy and paced, it is a gem that most people have yet to uncover! which is a shame ben watkins has made some of the best music for the past 10-15 years, combining trance with eastern flavours and myriad of strange sounds, from aggressive bass lines to lush pads that soar. A testament to this is the last track, which is truely epic, like a music army off to war. All my friends love this cd, everytime we go out or there is a party it goes on, everyone has a copy and thats a group of people ranging from 16-22 all with varying musical tastes, its about the only thing we can agree on most the time lol its hard to describe wehat makes this album great. If you like some of the music of the matrix or animatirx then buy it, cus a few of juno's trcks featured on them, an then buy it cus it will be the best new thing you have ever heard! Essential Bible Absolutely Stunning! Juno Reactor surpasses even their own superb Beyond The Infinite with this, the best electronic album in years. Blending Techno, D&B, Eastern rhythms and myriad sounds, Bible of Dreams is that rare album that transcends all musical forms and immediately appeals to all who are fortunate enough to have a listen. My C&W brother and alternative sister both got dressed and drove right down to the CD shop! Buy this record! Flying Object Submitted by warchild63 (Alameda, CA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Bible Of Dreams album
$11.18 Last time around, Shakira touched upon so many styles she couldn't be contained on one album, splitting Oral Fixation in two. This time, she focuses on one sound only: a pulsating electro-disco that crosses all boundaries and welcomes all nationalities. Such concentration behooves Shakira, freeing her to release her inner She Wolf, a wild wacko who's as coo coo as she is carnal. And for as sexy as Shakira is -- crucially, her music is sexy too -- what really gives She Wolf its bite is her inspired nuttiness, how she laments that Matt Damon's not meant for her, and wishes her ex-lover and his new girl a horrible vacation where the room smells and the toilet doesn't flush. "Darling, it is no joke, this is lycanthropy," she sings on the title track with no small trace of humor, and this blend of cheerful weirdness and sick beats -- often supplied by the Neptunes, delivering tough, sensual rhythms in a way they haven't in a long time, but also John Hill and Wyclef Jean -- is giddily addicting, a celebration of all the strange sensuality that comes out at night.

| | Z-Ro Cocaine CD (2009)
Bible Of Dreams CD music
$15.05 Despite his status as one of hip-hop's most prolific artists, Z-Ro never quite spreads himself too thin. The provocatively titled COCAINE is his second release from 2009, and features his trademark self-aware, yet rapier-sharp lyrics over some of the hotter beats out of the fertile Houston scene. The Intro skilfully sets out the landscape as the dark-vocaled MC reflects upon his choice of a life of street dealing without a shred of remorse, while stressing his decision was not exactly the wise one. From there, Z-Ro, an expert storyteller, wanders from tale to tale, each one delivered with a novelist's touch, on a record which somehow transcends cookie-cutter.
In 2009, Z-Ro's loyal fan base expected Heroin, a two-CD set announced the previous year, but instead they got Cocaine, ...

| | Fu Manchu In Search Of... CD (1996)
Bible Of Dreams music CDs
$8.05 Fu Manchu was one of the most enduring and influential bands of the '90s stoner metal movement (along with Kyuss, Monster Magnet, and Sleep), but it wasn't until their third full-length release, In Search Of..., that the Southern California stoners finally obtained "major" label support by signing with Mammoth Records -- not that this had any effect on singer Scott Hill's indistinctive vocals, or the band's fuzzy dirge of post-Sabbath riffery with psychedelic overtones. And like most Fu Manchu albums, In Search Of... is a very inconsistent affair, with only a few cuts such as "Asphalt Risin'," "Strato-Freak," and "Seahag" really standing out of the pack. Simply put, one gets the impression that Fu Manchu doesn't try that hard, but then, not ...

| | Bela Fleck Hidden Land CD (2006)
Bible Of Dreams music CDs
$9.99 Bela Fleck's progressive fusion of jazz, bluegrass, classical, rock, and anything else he can get his hands on has been surprising listeners for some time now. 2006's THE HIDDEN LAND offers more of the same, though "sameness" for Fleck is liberated from its usual meaning. For example, the elaborate riff on Bach's "Fugue from Prelude & Fugue No. 20" that opens the disc is a stylistic whiplash that manages to incorporate bop, swing, funk, and psychedelia while still honoring the spirit of the original.
Fleck's genre-smashing banjo playing is enough to win the heart of any adventurous listener, but his Flecktones--who include ...
