ANDRE WARDWith the ability to play the Soprano, Alto, Tenor Saxophone, and EWI ( electronic wind instrument) with skilled ease and passion, Andre Ward has been making noise on the Smooth Jazz scene winning fans over with his dynamic live performances. Having accomplished a top 5 position in Billboard Magazine’s Contemporary Jazz Chart with his debut album entitled “ Feelin’ You,” Andre is now ready to take the next step in his progression with his sophomore release appropriately titled “Steppin’ Up”. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Andre started playing music at the age of five. The snare drum would be his first instrument that would introduce him to his love of music, but it would be the saxophone that would ultimately allow him to receive a music performing scholarship to the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston. Andre continued gaining recognition around the world, whether it was at the Montreaux Jazz Festival in Switzerland or at the Performing Arts Tour in Africa. With a resume of experience working with some of the biggest names in the business, it is no wonder that Andre can command a stage and personally connect with each listener. As for what inspires Andre creatively, it would have to be his love of different kinds of music. “I think it helps me to be a well-rounded musician. Gospel, Hip-Hop, Contemporary and Traditional Jazz influence me. At first I only listened ...
| | Branford Marsalis Eternal CD (2004)
Soulmates album
$14.35 ETERNAL proves (yet again) that saxophonist Branford Marsalis, though no longer a "young lion" of jazz, still has a strong, unique musical voice. This 2004 album begins with "The Ruby and the Pearl," a somber tune that suggests an Argentinean tango. On this selection, Marsalis's soprano sax glides effortlessly over the understated rhythms. The title track is really a tone ...

| | Lamb Of God Ashes Of The Wake CD (2004)
Soulmates songs
$9.35 Following up a successful appearance at Ozzfest 2004, prog-metal outfit Lamb of God released ASHES OF THE WAKE, its major-label debut. Wielding a sound that's crushingly heavy while still maintaining a righteous groove, LOG serves up in-your-face metal that's sure to please fans of Pantera and Slayer.
Frontman Randy Blythe howls with a voice reminiscent of Venom's Kronos, as he rants about finding salvation in vice ("The Faded Line") and organized crime's code of honor ("Omerta"). Fueled by the double-kick-drum ferocity of skin-basher Chris Adler, guitarists Mark Morton and Willie Adler lay down a two-pronged attack that falls somewhere between the pummeling assault of classic American thrash and the more melodic and orchestral complexity of European metal. Anyone doubting Adler and Morton's chops need listen no further than the gnarly instrumental title cut, ...
