| | Barry White Ultimate Collection CD Barry White Discography of CDs
The two-disc, 30-track ULTIMATE COLLECTION was selected and sequenced by the maestro himself, making it truly the most essential Barry White compilation available. With its generous playing time and personal song selection, the set collects ... Full Descriptionall of the husky-voiced crooner's chart hits, from 1973's sultry, career-defining lover-man rap "I'm Gonna Love You Just a Little More, Baby" to 1999's comeback hit "Staying Power." It also includes key album tracks and the highlights from White's simply gorgeous instrumental easy-listening/soul albums with the Love Unlimited Orchestra (including, naturally, the immortal "Love's Theme"). Hardcore fans may be somewhat put off that THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION presents the shorter single mixes instead of the often-lengthy album versions, but those are already available on the albums' individual reissues. This release features all the punchier radio hits in one place, and serves as a near-perfect career summary of one of soul's most unforgettable artists.
Includes liner notes by Brian Chin.
Digitally remastered by Kevin Reeves.
Producers includes: Barry White, Gerald Levert, Tony Nicholas, Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis.
Compilation producers: Barry White, Harry Weinger.

Ultimate Collection album
$8.29 Principally recorded at Record One Studios & Larrabee Studios, Los Angeles, California. Originally released on Epic/Sony (45400).
Digitally remastered by Bernie Grundman (Bernie Grundman Mastering, Los Angeles, California).
After a lengthy gap of nearly five years, Jackson had to pull something out of the bag. BAD was, after all, a difficult act to follow, and the press were trying to prove he was bonkers. This was a pretty decent attempt and fell in with the hard dance beat of the early 90s. "Heal The World" was much like the old melodic Jackson, and it became a major hit. "Black Or White" was the best of the rest, a well-constructed song in which he attempted to repeat "Ebony And Ivory" in the context of 90s dance music.

| | Michael Jackson Greatest Hits: History Vol. 1 CD (2001)
Ultimate Collection CD music
$9.35 Includes liner notes by Elizabeth Taylor, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Steven Spielberg, Michael Jackson.
Having spent most of the '90s laying low, Michael Jackson spent much of the latter part of 2001 reintroducing himself to the public with a studio album (INVINCIBLE) and deluxe reissues of his Epic Records canon. Also released was GREATEST HITS: HIStory VOL.1, essentially Disc 1 of the similarly named 2-CD 1995 anthology HIStory: PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE BOOK 1. Regardless of how obvious the strategy of flooding the market with past and present material may have been, there's no denying how the contents of the GREATEST HITS package go a long way towards supporting the moniker of the self-proclaimed King Of Pop.
Amid rumors of rampant eccentricities, MJ plowed ahead crafting memorable numbers ranging from infectious dance numbers ("Wanna Be Starting' Somethin'," "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough") to heartfelt pleas for peace ("Black Or White", "Heal The World"). Jacko's pure chart dominance found him breaking MTV's glass ceiling of color behind the THRILLER juggernaut and its slew of smashes: - "Billie Jean," "The Girl Is Mine" (with Paul McCartney"), "Thriller," and "Beat It" with its blistering Eddie Van Halen guitar solo-cum-crossover hook. Thankfully, the greatness of this ...

| | Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly Greatest Hits CD (2004) Remastered
Ultimate Collection CD music
$13.45 Representative of the transition between late-1970s funk and the smooth R&B that came to dominate '80s pop radio, Frankie Beverly's Maze is rightfully recognized as an important band in the genre. This 2004 compilation brings together 18 of Maze's finest moments, ranging from 1979's bass-popping jam "Workin' Together" to the silky, Quiet Storm vibe of 1993's "The Morning After." In between is more than a decade's worth of accessible soul, including lock-step funk ("Running Away"), slow-pulse love balladry ("Never Let You Down"), and lounge-ready mid-tempo grooves ("We Are One").
