Almost Famous IS Fabulous!
If you grew up in the late 60s/early 70s as I did, then this movie no-doubt struck a chord with you that is still reverberating today. The same is true with the film's soundtrack. Unfortunately, the audio CD has but a handful of the music that defined that 4 year period 1969-1973. It's too bad that
Cameron Crowe didn't release a 2 disc set, there was certainly no shortage of material.
Despite the shortage tunes, what is on this CD is great and I recommend it to anyone who "came of age" in the early 70s or who simply enjoyed the music in the movie, but it's too short! There's so much more to the era, the movie tripled the CD in artists representated. I give it a 5, but it should have been longer!

"light a candle while u listen to this & ul see the future"
This album has an underlying optomism about it. the songs are memorable and do such justice to the film. as a new generation "baby" i was surprised to find that i love the tracks this album has to offer. these are the songs my parents listened to- and they are definitely gifts to the ears- considering the new age backstreet boys and good charlotte e are exposed to. not to mention- lyrics that actually mean something. i believe that it was said by the sister: "it's poetry" and before departing: "it will set you free". so true! a must!

Awesome
Awesome Soundtrack, But I Defenitely Agree 2 Disc Set Would Have Made It Killer! A Few Of My Favourites Are Missing...Like Zeppelins Misty Mountain Hop, and Elton Johns Mona Lisas and Madhatters
