Dans l'esprit de la tradition musicale des grands ensembles jazz de Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Oliver Nelson, Maria Schneider et Dave Holland, l'Ensemble Fleur de Lys jazze la chanson québécoise. Nous célébrons la chanson québécoise en nous en servant comme moyen d'improvisation. Notre répertoire est constitué d'arrangements originaux de pièces phares du répertoire québécois. Nous jazzons des classiques tels que Le train du nord (Félix Leclerc), Le grand cerf-volant (Gilles Vigneault), Martin de la chasse-galerie (Bottine Souriante), Le Picbois (Beau Dommage), Comme un million de gens (Claude Dubois) et Québec Love (Robert Charlebois). Nous retouchons aussi des pièces plus récentes telles que Le columbarium (Pierre Lapointe), Sang d'encre (Jean Leloup), Intouchable et immortel (Daniel Bélanger) et Le bon gars (Richard Desjardins). L'Ensemble Fleur de Lys est constitué d'une section de vents (trompette, saxos alto, ténor et baryton) et d'une section rythmique (guitare, vibraphone, contrebasse et batterie). Ça déménage! En septembre 2006 parraîssait le premier album de l'Ensemble Fleur de Lys intitulé Le retour aux sources. Récemment, l'album Le retour aux sources a été sélectionné comme étant un des meilleurs albums jazz de l'année 2006 (Denis Lapierre, Radio-Canada, L'heure de pointe, 19 décembre 2006) Présentement, l'Ensemble Fleur de Lys est en période de (ré)création pour se consacrer à l'écriture de nouveaux arrangements.
