With a bang and a splat, Starlight Mints throw their loopy brand of pop out of the heartland and into your hearts. They want to rock your world until you're dizzy--and dizzy you will be after you listen to their debut disc.

A five-piece from Norman, Oklahoma, Starlight Mints are somehow simultaneously droll, snide, and goofy. Though they superficially sound for all the world like some unholy, three-way marriage between ELO, XTC, and Weezer, their music owes as much to the early Kinks and Beatles. There's even an overt nod to Bowie's "Ashes to Ashes." However, these influences remain only peripheral; the sound that they arrive at is totally their own.

Inital pressings included a bonus disc.
