Os Dias Da Madredeus music CDs
$10.15 Excerpts from a review by Sean Piccoli, pop-music writer, Tribune Wire Services: "An intriguing collection of spoken-word pieces set to responsive percussion and loops..."As its title suggests, the album is concerned with flux and transition -- things continuously scattering and regrouping to ends unknown. The rhythms provide continuity as well as a flexible, sympathetic consort to the language. Matza speaks words that are chosen not just for what pictures they might evoke, but often their phonic similarities..."This is where the words themselves seem to be in cahoots, swapping code and winking at one another like traffic lights as they carry -- and alter -- thoughts along the linguistic chain. This is not a groundbreaking form of manipulation; verbal association is as old and familiar as child's play. But the Weeds do it with an attention to form that is both structured and, within the edifice, free-ranging. The words then go off the range altogether by slipping into the listener's brain and bouncing around in ways that encourage new, spontaneous word-gaming. "Playing along at home might yield utter nonsense or a vision of the listener's own making. But this leap from author to audience is where spoken-word has, to my mind, an advantage over music in its provocative power: Stripped to a bare soundtrack, or none at all, words without melodies and chords to suggest their meanings become more actively and creatively engaged by the listener. "For anyone who thinks we are all, as somebody once said, "creatures of art," spoken word as heard on In Between Stations proves that one person's finished portrait can be another's palette. "That, or I have become one ...

Os Dias Da Madredeus songs
$7.49 Judge Jackson - This new CD (and follow up to the bands last release, One Diamond) features 10 songs that have been road tested and recorded in the true spirit of rock and roll! This self-titled released was produced, engineered & mixed by John Hiler (Willie Dixon, Smashing Pumpkins, Stephen Stills,etc...). "Strong powerful musicianship combined with intense lyrics straight from the heart" - All Access Magazine.com / Mar.2007-----------------Judge Jackson Todd McTavish - VocalsRyan Rogers - BassLee Jackson - GuitarJ.J. Garcia - Drums This Los Angeles based group formed in the summer of ’95 when Guitarist Lee Jackson, Singer Todd McTavish and Bassist Ryan Rogers met through a mutual musician friend. They immediately bonded and discovered a strong musical chemistry between them, thus Judge Jackson was born! In less then 2 years of forming, the band produced 2 CD’s independently and developed a hard core following on the West Coast. After a few years of performing regionally, the band started writing songs for the next recording. In 2003, One Diamond was completed and instantly became a fan favorite with many. At years end, One Diamond collected several awards including “Best CD of the Year” and “Song of the Year” for the opening track “King” at the All Access Magazine Music Awards. During 2004, the band focused on writing songs and worked to develop a business plan to help them maximize opportunities in an ever-changing music industry. As changes transpired and the dust finally settled, Drummer J.J. Garcia joined the fold permanently. Judge Jackson, now solidified and revitalized, was ready to take the band to another level! In 2005, due to strong word of mouth and demand, One Diamond was re-released nationwide and the band toured across the US several times to support it. “Amazing” ...
