Ill-Natured Spiritual Invasion album
$12.55 Contains an untitled hidden track following " A Succubus In Rapture".
Norwegian black metal doesn't get much more sweepingly epic than Dimmu Borgir's third LP, 1997's ENTHRONE DARKNESS TRIUMPHANT. While many black metal acts are strait-jacketed by genre orthodoxy, Dimmu Borgir took the opportunity to spread their dark wings, even abandoning their native Norwegian to write and record the album in English. The sound is far removed from the humble scrappy early black metal of Venom and their ilk, as ENTHRONE DARKNESS TRIUMPHANT unfolds with all the weight and grandeur of finely composed classical music. That's not to say it isn't brutal; in fact, the sheer size and power of the music remains dizzying. "Tormentor of Christian Souls" is a veritable ice storm of scouring guitars and pounding drums, with monolithic keyboards adding to the thickening atmosphere, while the stately, funereal "A Succubus in Rapture" weaves a cobweb of fetid gloom.

| | Anthrax Greater Of Two Evils CD (2004)
Ill-Natured Spiritual Invasion music CDs
$9.99 If any group deserves to be renowned as "the people's metal band" it is surely Anthrax. With the exciting notion of re-recording a set of their 1980s-era material (when the lineup featured frontman Neil Turbin, followed by longtime singer Joey Belladonna), New York thrash-scene veterans turned to the fans to vote for the songs they wanted to hear interpreted by Anthrax 2004. Taking this ideal of metal democracy even further, Anthrax invited lucky contest winners to join the group as spectators for the sessions.
The result, THE GREATER OF TWO EVILS, is a live-to-tape performance, equally raw and refined, with very few tweaks to the original arrangements. Inspiring versions of "Caught in a Mosh," "Madhouse," and "I Am the Law" attest to the enduring appeal of Anthrax's early material. Diehard fans will love the cleverly tagged main riff from "Time" (PERSISTENCE OF TIME), used at the end of "N.F.L.," and the hidden bonus track "Lone Justice" that follows "Gung-Ho." For these same lifer fans, TWO EVILS leaves one bittersweet pang; originally joining the fold at the same time as Belladonna, bassist Frank Bello exited Anthrax to tour with the reformed Helmet, making TWO EVILS his last album after nearly 20 years with the group.

Ill-Natured Spiritual Invasion songs
$10.29 This special edition of Bronco's POR TI comes packaged with a bonus DVD containing videos and a photo gallery, among other things. A major figure in the Norteno scene, the group sticks closer to the traditional Mexican style than many of their peers (Grupo Bryndis, et al). Simple guitar rhythms and vibrant accordion accompaniment are central to each song, and the vocals bear an emotive, romantic, old-school vibe. Sure, there's the occasional electronic adornment, but for the most part, POR TI is full of roots-conscious ...

Ill-Natured Spiritual Invasion album
$8.29 KINGDOM is an Enhanced CD containing a full audio program as well as multimedia computer files.
There are very few bands that have managed to weave a web of mystery around them. Very few have survived and kept going strong until today. When faced with the question 'which' people tend to mention American death-mongers with the likes of MORBID ANGEL, DEICIDE or CANNIBAL CORPSE ... However, for a few years now in the same breath many have named VADER - perhaps the only band from Europe which has sustained its status for a number of years. Kingdom is a classic EP from 1998, this reissue contains 2 bonus tracks.

Amazing musician and still the fire burns! If your looking for true black/death metal or what ever you want to call it, this is a band that has talent and a true embrace of what evil is and what heavy metal can be and if your looking for shredding guitars and vocal mayhem with doses of evil keyboards then you've got Old Man's chlid to experience and if you have'nt then you sholud be a shamed! (to be honest Galder is better in OMC than Dimmu Borgir) Submitted by Spine Splitter (Tampa,Fl) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Perfect CD! I liked everything about this CD - every song was good; had catchy rythems; had clear vocals; liked what the lyrics had to say and they were easy to read; this CD really connected with me - perfect music! Note: I also gave their other CD, "The Pagan Prosperity", 5 stars, and consider both CDs to be exceptional! Submitted by neutrality (Rochester, MN, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
