This cd is one of the greatest traditional christmas cd`s out there. It is done in a style of a show (this is a soundtrack to a live christmas show at Radio City) and most of the songs are done in medley`s. Many times throughout, there is a "Santa Claus" character that speaks or sings and this just adds to the great christmas feeling this cd gives. The songs are done with a full orchestra and chorus and it is very similar to Percy Faith`s "Christmas is" christmas cd (in fact, Percy Faith is listed in the credits as helping out with the music), but there is also many original approaches to many of the songs on this cd. This was recorded, I believe, in 2000, but the show has been going on for many decades. This is really as good as christmas music gets. Great songs are "Happy Holiday", "The Christmas Waltz", "Silver Bells", "It`s Beginning to Look Alot Like Christmas", "Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow", "Sleighride", "White Christmas", and a new favorite christmas song (at least this version) "Welcome Christmas". This cd is also done in a similar format as Percy Faith`s "Christmas is" cd in that there are many songs with singing, but there are also many songs that are instrumental. Don`t worry though, everything is great, this is just about as great a christmas cd can be, it is extremely cheerful and lively, and it is without a doubt one of the greatest christmas cd`s out there. This is christmas and should put you in an immediate christmas mood.
