"If I Ever Lose My Faith In You" won the 1994 Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Male; and TEN SUMMONER'S TALES won the 1994 Grammy Award for Engineered Album, Nonclassical. "If I Ever Lose My Faith In You" was also nominated for Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year; and TEN SUMMONER'S TALES was nominated for Album Of The Year.
Mr. "Sheer Profundity" delivered a stunning fourth solo album that probably surprised himself as well as the critics who were prepared to watch his fall from grace after the seeming failure of the intense THE SOUL CAGES. Right from the opener, "If I Ever Lose My Faith In You," the album holds its pace. That track will be seen as a classic in years to come, as will the beautiful "Fields Of Gold" and "Shape Of My Heart." Sting is established as a major artist with a solo career that has now eclipsed his former supergroup.

Better than I thought it would be! "If I ever lose my faith in you" is the stand-out single from this album. Personally, I bought it for the haunting "Shape of My Heart" after catching the credits of some film or other on satellite tv. I forget the movie, but I wrote down the song and album name it made such an impression. Also on this offering are the other great singles "Fields of Gold" and "It's probably me". A typical current Sting offering, so if you're a fan you will love it. If not, give it a listen anyway & you may be surprised by the old fella. 10 Stars for Ten Summoner's Tales Can Sting ever surpace this Masterpiece
of his musical genius. There is not
a bad tune on this C.D. Sting runs
the gauntlet of musical styles, with
his structure of this collection of
songs. Seven Days, has all the humour
in it's lyrics of a Robin Williams
monologue. Field of Gold is so tender
and discriptive.It's probably Me is
one of the most romantic songs I have
ever heard. The Shape Of My Heart is
so inventive with the lyrics,once
again proving what a musical genius
Sting is. I have to say I have listened
to this c.d. about 1000 times and loved
it as much every single time. Submitted by Patricia (Memphis, Tennessee) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 2 found this helpful.
Memories of this album... Gosh, it's 2003 now yet I remember getting this cd 10 years ago, and rushing to play it in my grandmother's car, since I had no working cd player at the time. Fields of gold still kills me with emotion. I remember that time so clearly....The sign of an AMAZING album.

Ten Summoner's Tales songs
$16.09 A recording many consider his finest single album, and rightly so, John Coltrane displays all of the exciting elements that sparked brilliance and allowed his fully formed instrumental voice to shine through in the most illuminating manner. On tenor saxophone he's simply masterful, offering the burgeoning sheets of sound philosophy only he perfected into endless weavings of melodic and tuneful displays of inventive, thoughtful, driven phrases. Coltrane plays a bit of soprano saxophone as a primer for his more exploratory work to follow. Remember this is 1962, at a time when he was rethinking his style vis a vis the work he did influenced by Ornette Coleman, and only five years prior to his passing. Of course bassist Jimmy Garrison, drummer Elvin Jones, and especially the stellar McCoy Tyner have integrated their passionate dynamics into the inner whole of the quartet. The result is a most focused effort, a relatively popular session to both his fans or latecomers, and five selections where it ...
