Rifkin and Joplin
To hear Joplin on a good piano played with sensitivity and consumate technique is a joy and a revelation. Of all the performers of ragtime, Rifkin is the only man to play this music with the respect it deserves. Too many play Joplin on a rinky-tink piano with little ball-peen hammers, not to mention trap drums and banjos. (One can imagine the straw boaters on their pointed little heads.)
Dammit, Joplin was a real musician. He deserves the attention of a real musician on a first class instrument. Rifkin is the one.

Perfection, perfection, perfection
An inspired performance of some inspired compositions, incorporating the best of modern technology and some excellent notes by the performer, Joshua Rifkin, who obviously understands and enjoys Scott Joplin and his music. What more could anyone ask for ?
