Enemigos Intimos album
$9.65 VUELVE won the 1999 Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Performance.
So he did time in Menudo, so what? He was young and impressionable. You don't hold New Edition against Bobby Brown, do you? The point is that Ricky Martin is a fully-realized, mature artist who has a lot to offer to the world of Latin music. VUELVE shows the range of Martin's talents, from the propulsive Latin rhythms of "Por Arriba, Por Abajo" and "Lola, Lola" to the Anglicized power balladry of the title track, with plenty of stops in between. Somehow, it all fits together seamlessly. One of the reasons may be the economy of the tunes; Martin likes 'em short and sweet, and nothing on VUELVE sticks around long enough to wear out its welcome.
Engineers include: Benny Faccone, Rik Pekkonen, Steve Churchyard.
Personnel includes: Ricky Martin (vocals); Rusty Anderson (acoustic & electric guitars); Peter "Yussi" Wenger, Marcelo Berestovoy, Richard Gomez, Phillipe Bourgues, Joseph Lito Cortes, Ramon Stagnaro ...
| | U2 Best Of 1980-1990 CDs (1999)
Enemigos Intimos CD music
$22.05 U2 burst onto the scene at the onset of the '80s with a majestic, uplifting, earnest approach and a unique textural sound that endeared them to fans and critics alike. They spent the rest of the decade growing up in public, solidifying their status as post-punk icons, marrying the good intentions of old-school alternative rock with the epic sonic scale of classic '70s rockers, never sounding less than totally original and never pausing for a hits compilation--until 1998. BEST OF offers a good representation of the complex body of work that made the band a legend.
Fittingly, the album begins with the debut's "I Will Follow," a statement of commitment to pursuing truth and spirituality despite continual and inevitable misgivings. "Desire" mates Bono's lyrical fervor with a modified Bo Diddley beat to fine effect. New world meets old on the bluesy B.B. King collaboration "When Love Comes to Town." Closing things out, "All I Want is You" shows the moody, reflective side of the band, giving Bono a chance to croon and the rest of the band to exhibit the understated side of their instrumental might.
The double disc edition of the Irish band's first decade coupled with a second disc of single b-sides.

Enemigos Intimos music CDs
$9.85 This is an Enhanced audio CD which contains regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files.
Yes return to classic form on THE LADDER, an album that features the kinds of chord changes, technical virtuosity, and vocal harmonies that brought the band to prominence. Bruce Fairbairn (Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Cranberries), who passed away in May, 1999, made his last production job a memorable one.
Billy Sherwood and Igor Khoroshev join the classic lineup of Jon Anderson, Steve Howe, Chris Squire, and Alan White. "Homeworld (The Ladder)" is a 9-minute opus that changes from straight-ahead rock to a piano melody, and is reminiscent of the band's early-'70s progressive work. "Lightning Strikes" has a ska feel to it, while "Can I?" is a world music reworking of the band's own "We Have Heaven." "Face To Face" is a fantastic classic rock tune, and "If You Only Knew" is a wonderfully commercial ballad. Like the title track, "New Language" is another epic track featuring the keyboard talents of Mr. Khoroshev. Yes is a band that recently celebrated its 30th anniversary and has never stopped experimenting. THE LADDER is proof of this, with the group sounding as fresh as ever.
Recorded at Armoury Studios, Vancouver, Canada from February-May 1999.

Enemigos Intimos CD music
$13.69 Writer, composer, singer, Jean Sanon Lamour — San - was born in Pétion-Ville, Haiti. As a child, San discovered music in his parents’ library where he found songs of different material, which he learned without even understanding the words. On his own, San started to sing and play the guitar, before joining the National Arts School where he studied music for some time. But what has made San the artist he has become is his ability to diversify his style and to mix the different sounds which continue to influence him. At the beginning of 2000, San became public thanks to the group Sokute, which already introduced a new musical concept, merging soul music with Haitian rhythms. With Sokute, San went on stage in Port-au-Prince at Café des Arts, at the French Institute in Haiti, as well as at the Roots Rock Reggae and the Rolling Stone Café; in Miami at the Roots and Culture Festival; and more importantly in Canada at the Francofolies de Montréal, at Festival Vues D’Afrique, and at Clubs such as Balattou and Zest. After 10 years as a musician, San now presents us with a new face in Haitian music: he is back on the world music scene with a new project : San & GRIOT SPIRIT (The Griot Spirit). Naturally, the name of the project refers to the traditional musicians and poets of Africa. It also comes within the scope of Haitian native art and to the roots of the Haitian culture. In fact, it is from his ancestors that San gets his new inspiration, and creates an hybrid, afro-pop sound, with traditional Haitian rhythms merged with world rhythms, and influenced by American folk, roots rock reggae and blues creole. To the sound of Haitian drums, his music leaves freedom to experiment and improvise. In his songs, where he speaks of identity, unity, freedom and equality, one can feel the influence of Paul Simon, Tracy Chapman and Ben Harper. San (Griot Spirit) has been on stage with Bélo and Boukman Eksperyans in Haïti and at the World Café Live in Philadelphia and at Club Balattou in Montreal; with Emeline Michel, Luck Mervil and Beethova Obas at the Broward Community ...
