Eros Ramazzotti released Stilelibero (meaning "free spirit" or "free style") in late 2000, and the album features some of the singer's finest material to date. Where in the past some of his ballads have weighted down his albums, on this set they are among the highlights. The album has a definite pop feel to it, evident by the Euro-dance-leaning opener, "L'ombra del Gigante." Most of the album, when it's not in ballad form, could be categorized as MOR rock with catchy hooks, with songs such as "Fuoco Nel Fuoco" and "Amica Donna Mia" falling into this category. There are several interesting moments on this set, notably the irresistibly soulful "Improvvisa Luce Ad Est," and his duet with, of all people, Cher, on the dramatic "Piu Che Puoi." However, Eros truly shines on the ballads, and several of them are downright stunning, among them "Un Angelo Non E," "E Ancor Mi Chiedo," and especially the album's closer, "Per Me Per Sempre." The album also includes interactive menus, which feature a biography, an interview, a photo gallery, a discography, and the video for "Fuoco Nel Fuoco." All in all, a thoroughly engaging package from the Italian singer. ~ Jose F. Promis

Stilelibero worth buying Eros created a gem with the Stilelibero album. He does a magnifisent job telling stories, and getting his point or emotions across with each songs lyrics. His ability to do this, while blending influences of latin, blues and rock guitars is a talent that Eros displays on songs like Fuoco Nel Fuoco, Un Angelo Non E', Improvisa Luce Ad Ast, and his duet with Cher, Piu' Che Puoi. Buy this CD, you won't regret it! Submitted by a reviewer (New York, U.S.A.) Was This Review Helpful? YesNo
The perfect background sound for the perfect place I heard this album while driving along the gorgeous coastline of Southern Italy (Sorrento) with a some of my best friends so this album will always bring back good memories for me. Our bus driver put this on and the whole group loved it (thanks Guiseppe!). It was the perfect soundtrack for one of the most beautiful places in the world. But personal experience aside, this album is pretty good, but not exceptional which is why I gave it 3 stars. Ramazzotti is the Italian answer to Phil Collins. The songs tend to be quite similar and the pop beat begins to really get to you by the middle of the album. I don't know about everyday listening, but make sure to bring it along on for downtime in Italy. Submitted by a reviewer (Torrance, CA) Was This Review Helpful? YesNo 0 of 1 found this helpful.
