LIVE AT LAST is a 1980 live album by Black Sabbath with Ozzy osbourne on vocals.

Surprisingly, Warner Brothers never released a live Black Sabbath album in the U.S. during Ozzy Osbourne's years with the band. It wasn't until 1982's double-LP Live Evil (which featured Ronnie James Dio instead of the Oz) that Warner finally put out a live Sabbath album in the U.S. Released in England in 1980, Live at Last is a single LP that was recorded before Osbourne's departure but didn't come out until after he had left. Unfortunately, this LP's liner notes are problematic. Nems lets you know that Live at Last was recorded in Manchester, England, and at the Rainbow in London, but no recording dates are given. And Osbourne's first name is misspelled "Ossie." As for the performances, the Osbourne/Geezer Butler/Tony Iommi/Bill Ward lineup of Sabbath is in decent form on such menacing favorites as "War Pigs," "Paranoid," "Sweet Leaf," and "Children of the Grave." Live at Last, which made it to American stores as an import, is by no means definitive -- how could it be without "Iron Man"? But even so, fans were glad to finally have a live recording of Osbourne-era Sabbath that wasn't a bootleg. ~ Alex Henderson

1996 reissue on Castle of their 1980 live album recorded inManchester & at The Rainbow in London. Digitally remastered,it also features the original sleeve artwork and expandedliner notes. 'Live At Last' is also the only official liveSabbath album with the original line up featuring OzzyOsbourne! Nine tracks, including 'Paranoid', 'Sweet Leaf','War Pigs' and 'Children Of The Grave'.

5 stars Like a time warp.
If you ever went to Ozzfest and were dissapointed that you didn't get the true, retro sound of the band, this album has it down to a T. A total old-school vintage recording sound, it makes you feel like you were just sitting out in a field somewhere in the 70's at a black sabbath concert, smoking weed. This album is a must for people into the nostalgia side of bands. If you could find this on vinyl, that would be even better. The crackle sound, combined with the sound of old instruments running through an old P.A. system. Perfect. This album is the real deal. A must for Sabbath fans.

4 stars Ozzy hates it!
I have a signed copy of this album, with the legend "f@@king crap" scored deep into the album sleeve by Ozzy. Apparently he hates it, although I think it stands up pretty well as half a Sabbath gig.

4 stars The end of a world of darkness... The Big Swan Song !
LIVE AT LAST is as its title suggests : a live album (finally !!!) before the Ozzy's broke-up with the band. That album is in a way a swan song, the final album with Ozzy as the singer.

LIVE AT LAST is a great piece of history : the album offers the feeling of what's what like SABBATH on stage. Saddly, the sound could have been better (I remember when I bought the vinyl some 15 years ago how disappointed I was with the sound... almost equal to a bootleg recording ! But with the CD technology, things are a bit better... But what do we expect from a 70s live recording ??? One other thing which is disappointing is that it should have been a 2 LPs (at the time) / 2 CDs set... It lacks some of the masterpieces. Nevertheless, LIVE AT LAST is a good buying, if you liked the Ozzy years with Black Sabbath. Personally, I like that album as a testimony... try it !

4 stars Great Live Sabbath!!!!
It's too bad that this album was not released during the Ozzy years of Black Sabbath. This is groovy brain pummeling stuff here. Ozzy sounds exactly like he does in the studio, Tony releases the dark brooding guitar riffs, Geezer is most certainly no slouch on the bass, and Bill is truly a wildman drummer. This is a must for any Sabbath fan!
