Clubber's Guide To Trance music CDs
$15.09 'How Do You Feel The Morning After' asks Millie Jackson on the opening track of her 3rd album cut for Spring records and first issued in 1974; in Millie's case you're almost afraid to ask. The tracks for this album were cut at Muscle Shoals studio, with the house rhythm section of Roger Hawkin and David Hood, alongside keyboard legend Barry Beckett and it sure shows y'all. The sassy Miss Jackson ...

| | Sizzla Da Real Live Thing CD (2005) With DVD; Special Edition
Clubber's Guide To Trance album
$17.59 A reissue of Sizzla's triumphant 2002 studio record, DA REAL THING, this special edition features bonus tracks and a DVD that presents energetic live performances and an interview. (It's not a concert album, as the title DA REAL LIVE THING implies.)
The Kingston, Jamaica, native is in excellent form here, masterfully steering his dancehall sound back towards a more traditional roots-reggae sound. While Sizzla's alternately gritty and melodic vocals carry the tunes, guest appearances by beloved veteran musicians make the record even more compelling. Saxophonist Dean Fraser turns up on a number of tracks, including the uplifting "Rejoice," remaining subtly in the background, only to occasionally surface with his distinctive horn playing. Robbie Shakespeare also contributes to the album on the bold, dub-tinged "Solid as a Rock," which is expertly propelled by his signature bass lines. One of Sizzla's most confident and sensitive outings (see the touching "Thank U Mamma"), DA REAL THING is even better as DA REAL LIVE THING, and those who overlooked it the first time around now have a second chance to check out this top-notch reggae disc.
This release features a DVD of live performance footage filmed at VP 25 Concert in Miami, Florida, in May 2004 in 5.1 Audio, as well as 2 music videos, MTV post show interview, photo gallery, ...

| | Earth, Wind, And Fire Illumination CDs (2006) With DVD; Bonus CD; Bonus Track
Clubber's Guide To Trance music CDs
$15.89 With the Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney releasing fresh and vital albums in 2005, it comes as no surprise that Earth, Wind & Fire are still going strong as well. But rather than simply hearkening back to their classic formula, EWF update their sound to keep pace with contemporary R&B and hip-hop, opting for a sharp, polished production that fits right in on urban radio, while still staying true to the pan-global grooves and complex, technically advanced playing on which the group built its reputation.
A host of guest stars--nearly all of whom are from an up-and-coming generation of soul--appear here. Black Eyed Peas' Will. I. Am. co-writes and performs on the opener "Lovely People," while Outkast's Big Boi steps up to the mic on "This Is How I Feel." The sensual crooner Brian McKnight lends his pipes to the ballad "To You," and even Kenny G. puts in an appearance on a saxophone-based instrumental. Beneath all this is the classic EWF vibe, and the band's ability to ...

| | FM Aphrodisiac CD (2008)
Clubber's Guide To Trance CD music
$14.05 FM hold a very special place in the hearts of UK AOR fans. The band ably showed that Brits could turn their hand to a nimble tune every bit as well as their American counterparts and, in Steve Overland, the band had - and still have - one of the truly great voices in Rock music. Originally released in 1992, Aphrodisiac was a fine album that continued in the style of their two previous Portrait records releases. Along with Strangeways, Shy and the like, FM were the very best British ...
