| | Paul Oakenfold Tranceport CD Paul Oakenfold Discography of CDs
(17 Customer Reviews)
TRANCEPORT is a continuous, in-the-mix recording by Paul Oakenfold. Paul Oakenfold was already a guru of the techno world by the time this 1998 sampler was released, and the deeply textured tracks on TRANCEPORT only served to underscore ... Full Descriptionhis popularity. Given that trance (along with deep house) is one of Oakenfold's specialties, it's not surprising that the album is one of the better trance compilations available.
Eleven compositions from the likes of Paul Van Dyke, Transa, Gus Gus, and the Dream Traveler are given the royal remix treatment by Oakenfold. The usual hallmarks of trance--hypnotic repetition, an insistent groove, and anthemic production--are all on offer, yet in Oakenfold's hands the style becomes infinitely more layered and sophisticated, making TRANCEPORT an album as well suited to headphone-listening as it is to dancefloor workouts.

Entertainment Weekly (1/15/99, p.63) - "...TRANCEPORT is a terrific introduction to both trance and to the burgeoning subgenre of DJ mix albums. Think of it as clap tracks with a heart and a brain." - Rating: A Hide Description Tranceport Music | List Price | $15.97 (You save $2.62) | | Category | Rock/Pop Albums, Rock CDs, Dance, Electronica, Miscellaneous, Trance | | Label | Kinetic | | Orig Year | 1998 | | All Time Sales Rank | 2481 | | CD Universe Part number | 1278009 | | Catalog number | 47120 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Nov 03, 1998 | | Studio/Live | Studio | | Mono/Stereo | Stereo | | Personnel | Paul Oakenfold Marcella Woods - vocals Binary Finary Kate Cameron Jeff Relf - programming Joanna Law Roxanne Cameron

Tranceport album
$8.49 Back in June of 1986, while skeptics questioned whether "Van Hagar" could deliver the goods, all doubts were put to rest as 5150 charted at #1. This was the band's first #1 record, as 1984 peaked at #2. It's also a damn good album.
After hitting #3 with his version of "California Girls" in 1985, David Lee Roth went on to pursue a successful solo career, leaving Sammy Hagar to pick up where he left off. Van Halen continue in the heavy pop vein of "Jump" with the hooky "Why Can't This Be Love." By the time every long-haired guitarist on the planet had copied Eddie Van Halen's licks, the guitar ...
| | Paul Van Dyk Out There And Back CDs (2000)
Tranceport CD music
$11.69 Paul Van Dyk was born in Eisenhuttenstadt, in former East Germany, and came to Berlin in the late '90s, lured there by the burgeoning techno and house scenes. It's amazing to think that Van Dyk only began deejaying in 1991, and in a single decade, reached further than most DJs will in a lifetime, imprinting his sound and style upon the dance music world's trance scene which first erupted in 1999.
OUT THERE AND BACK gives an idea why dance music bible Mixmag named Van Dyk its man of the year in 1999, writing "In his hands, the music is powerful, emotional and never cheesy, just the way ...

| | VH1 Presents The Corrs Live In Dublin CD (2002)
Tranceport CD music
$6.39 This audio document of The Corrs' Dublin homecoming concert has pretty much everything fans of Irish pop could wish for, including an appearance from Bono in his earthly incarnation, fresh from an audience with President George W. Bush. It's to the band's credit that the charismatic singer fails to steal the show, despite creditable efforts via an anthemized version of Ryan Adams' beautifully downtempo "When the Stars Go Blue," and a great, leering rendition of Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra's "Summer Wine."
Somewhat more mysteriously, Rolling Stone Ron Wood also turns up on what sounds dangerously close to a lounge version of Jimi Hendrix's "Little Wing," but this minor faux pas is redeemed by the Irish folk medley "Joy of Life/Trout in the Bath" which arguably features more full-on Irishness than the Dublin production of RIVERDANCE. There's also ...
| | Bruce Springsteen Tracks CDs (1998) 4CD Digipak Boxset
Tranceport music CDs
$39.05 TRACKS includes 56 previously unreleased masters, many of which were recorded during the BORN IN THE U.S.A. and THE RIVER sessions, as well as ten B-sides.
All tracks have been digitally mastered using HDCD technology.
This handsomely packaged box set goes a long way towards illuminating the darker corners of Springsteen's recording career. Apparently, almost every time the Boss went into the studio he recorded more songs than he could possibly fit onto a record, and most of those extra tracks languished in obscurity. The four-disc TRACKS aims to change that. The amazing thing about the never-before-heard material here (and the little-known b-sides also included) is that most of the songs are just as impressive as the ones ultimately chosen to go on Springsteen's albums. Spanning various phases of his career, the selections chronicle Springsteen's journey from Dylan-inspired folk-poet to funky working class hero to larger-than-life rock icon, ...
| | Led Zeppelin Houses Of The Holy CD (1973) Remastered
Tranceport songs
$14.39 By 1973, Led Zeppelin was getting used to being the biggest band on the planet (both financially and sonically). Letting their guard down and their spirits wander, they came up with the most widely varied album in their discography. Stylistically, HOUSES OF THE HOLY is all over the map, but it coheres in a grand manner befitting the '70s rock royalty Zeppelin had become. Stepping back a little from the epic scale of ZEPPELIN IV, the group slips into a funky James Brown homage ("The Crunge"), offers one of the first-ever attempts at reggae-rock ("D'yer Ma'ker"), and ventures ...
