| Sunnyboys Music Review Average Rating: (4.5 out of 5 stars) Best Aussie band ever The essence of THE most amazing live band is captured perfectly on this album. I still have my original LP, play it regularly. Every time I get the same excitement I felt at their gigs in the '80s. You just gotta have it! Pure pop for now people. Sunnyboys were a surf- friendly Aussie band, who in their career hatched some delightful uncomplicated rock. Fans who like them are quite passionate. This is the first album, and it has dated a little in sonic terms, but still energetic in performance. I recommend also "DISCIPLINE" and "LIVE" where the band get really good with their instruments, and an element of seriousness gives a new depth to it all. Play often and play loud. At Their Best This is the Sunnyboys at their best. For my money, the sound on this album is as vibrant as if they are there in from of you. You can just imagine the beers around the room and the freshness of the songs as if they were being written at that very point in time infront of you. The best hits are here. People who rave about this band do it because they mean it. Trust me. Buy this CD. Submitted by Les C (Sydney, Australia) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Sunnyboys album
$11.99 In the '90s, the '70s nostalgia boom finally kicked in, working its way into fashion, TV, and of course, music and film. VELVET GOLDMINE is a sterling example of those last two media, a music-oriented film centered around '70s style and powered by a glam-centric soundtrack that features both the original era's artisans and new worshippers at the '70s altar. The pounding piano and art school dandy aura of Roxy Music's "Virginia Plain" is cultural ground zero for VELVET GOLDMINE. Roxy synthesist Brian Eno contributes one of his early pop tracks, "Needle in the Camel's Eye." Largely forgotten Roxy peers Cockney Rebel are represented by CR vocalist Steve Harley's "Make Me Smile." Naturally, no glam-oriented ...
| | Elliott Smith Either/Or CD (1997)
Sunnyboys CD music
$12.25 This singer/songwriter can say more with a whisper than most folks can with a scream. The gently insinuating despair of Smith's work communicates volumes about the heartbreak and alienation that is the bane of 20th century boys with too much time on their hands. Smith's day job fronting the aggressive post-punk band Heatmiser provides him with the necessary yang to produce the quiet, evocative yin ...

| | Dream Theater Black Clouds & Silver Linings CDs (2009) Special Edition
Sunnyboys CD music
$19.98 Special Edition CD includes the full album, a CD of instrumental mixes of the album and a CD of six cover songs.
Dream Theater's tenth long-player is about as dense and challenging as any album in the band's discography and emphasizes not only the virtuoso members' stupefying musicianship, but also their most aggressive and thoroughly metallic songwriting tendencies. The sixteen-minute opener "A Nightmare to Remember" quickly establishes this agenda via frequently thrash-paced staccato riffing, some of John Petrucci's most blistering guitar solos ever, and the return of drummer Mike Portnoy's syncopated growls, which provide contrast for singer James LaBrie's soaring melodic elegance. "The Count of Tuscany" is a heady prog-metal magnum opus brimming with more ideas, ...

| | Robbie Williams Greatest Hits CD (2004) (Import) Import; Australia
Sunnyboys CD music
$30.19 A superstar in his native U.K., Robbie Williams hadn't reached a mainstream audience in the U.S. at the time of this 2004 compilation's release, a fact made bewildering by the slew of undeniably catchy, well-crafted pop songs on hand. While the sleek "Millennium" and the cheeky "Rock DJ" display the former Take That member's refreshingly sophisticated sonic sensibilities, the ballad "Angels" proves that his slightly raspy voice can also project plenty of emotion. For the uninitiated, this is an excellent crash course in Williams's late-1990s/early-00s material.
Australian version. Following an incredible eight record-breaking years at the top of the UK charts, 13 Brit awards, over 1 million albums & DVDs sold in Australia (and over 32 million sales worldwide), Robbie Williams returns to the fore with the release of his first 'Greatest Hits' collection. The 2004 album features Robbie's ...
| | Thee Silver Mt Zion Memorial O Horses In The Sky CD (2005)
Sunnyboys music CDs
$12.89 A splinter group of popular post-rock ensemble Godspeed You Black Emperor, A Silver Mt. Zion (or, as they are referred to here, Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra & Tra-La-La Band) is comprised of GYBE guitarist/pianist/singer Efrim, bassist Thierry, violinist Sophie, and other guests. But whereas the band's previous albums sometimes sounded like replications of GYBE's layered, largely instrumental formula, HORSES IN THE SKY is a different kettle of fish altogether. Raw, stripped-down, and vocal-centered, Silver Mt. Zion's fourth album is hushed, mesmerizing, and deeply affecting.
The opening track, "God Bless Our Dead Marines," begins with Efrim's tortured, yelped vocals over pizzicato strings, before dropping into a shifting Balkan dance melody and a chain of surreal lyrics about politics, Nina Simone, and drug abuse. ...
