Recorded in New Orleans, Louisiana on May 17 & 19, 1971 and at Southlake Recording Studios, New Orleans, Louisiana on February 7, 1988 and November 24, 1989. Norwegian transplant Lars Edegran formed the New Orleans Ragtime Orchestra in 1967 to preserve some of the New Orleans music that he loved. The band has been going strong ever since, playing gigs from the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival to the Satchmo Summer Fest. George Benson switched to the contemporary jazz label GRP with this 1996 recording, but his playing style still delivers plenty of soul and funk.
