Group Sex is the greatest hardcore album ever. The best 15 minutes in music you'll find. Live Fast Die Young, Paid Vacation, World up My Ass, Behind the Door, Wasted, operation, Beverly hills, Deny Everything, and Wasted are the best songs but all are great. classic hardcore 'group sex' will go down in history with minor threats 'discography' and bad brains 'rock for light' for it is one of the definitive american hardcore albums of the 80's. it is only 16 minutes long but it is worth the 9 dollars Submitted by matt the rat (femer) Was This Review Helpful? back to front, front to back the circle jerks are really good aggresive hardcore punk. however, for some reason this cd has each song twice. i suppose this is an advantage as u don't have to press the repeat button on your cd player once the whole cd is thru, but it is strange none the less. it should be packaged as an EP as its only about 15 minutes of music Submitted by the_zeus (Toronto, Canada) Was This Review Helpful? great album ..but one thing. the album repeats after the fourteenth track. no alterations, the same thing. still, one of the best hardcore albums. Submitted by jim69 (walnut creek, CA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 2 found this helpful.
Original hardcore!! This is probably the first hardcore (as opposed to regular Punk) album released. Don't mind the songs being on here twice; That's how it was originally released. The cassette even had a blank second side as well as the album repeating on the first side!
What a "15 MINUTES!!!!!"(Listen to their 'Wonderful' album for THAT reference!!!) of real punk! Submitted by Bangsmith (Wherever George W Bush is NOT!!!) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Group Sex album
$10.69 The Washington, D.C. straightedge hardcore punk scene began with Minor Threat. The band recorded two LPs on its own Dischord label, plus an EP and the miscellaneous singles that are collected on this CD. Many of the early recordings on this collection seethe with teen-age angst and indignation. The songs rage against bullies, religious hypocrisy, and the herd mentality.
Other songs, taken from later in Minor Threat's career, feature tighter and more sophisticated playing. Metallic flourishes tinge the guitar work, vocal harmonies abound, and song dynamics vary more than on the earlier record. On certain songs, Ian MacKaye's lyrics address the complexities of friendship, loyalty, and self-expression. "Look Back and Laugh," "Little Friend," and "It Follows" all incline more toward introspection and ambiguity; conveying loss and sadness in addition to outrage. This second set of songs seems to especially anticipate MacKaye's later work with Fugazi. The album also contains a few playful numbers like the sing-along cover of "Stepping Stone," and "Cashing ...
| | Black Flag Damaged CD (1981)
Group Sex CD music
$12.05 The songs, delivered in an impassioned rant by a young Henry Rollins, are classic Cal-punk, mocking American complacency ("Six Pack," "TV Party") with a winning combination of anger and satire, as well as an ingratiating sense of structure. Also included on the disc is the early, pre-Rollins EP JEALOUS AGAIN, on which the band similarly rages against the machine, though the attack is a bit less refined. DAMAGED is an American punk classic, and the cornerstone of any punk collection.
Perhaps the quintessential California punk band, and one of the founding fathers of hardcore, Black Flag is to America what the Sex Pistols are to the U.K. DAMAGED is the band's most loved album, featuring some of its best-known songs. Though ...
| | Black Flag First Four Years CD (1983)
Group Sex music CDs
$12.25 Before Rollins brought his more serious and political concerns to the band, Black Flag was a sometimes-goofy punk band in the tradition of the Dictators. Keith Morris and Dez Cadena, who (separately) sing most of this material, later spent time with the Circle Jerks and Redd Kross, respectively, and the sometimes pop-tinged punk of those bands is a good comparison for these unpretentious, speedy proto-hardcore nuggets. ...

| | Germs M.I.A.: The Complete Anthology CD (1993)
Group Sex album
$13.65 It's a shame that the Germs are better known for their trashy, charismatic singer Darby Crash's demise than for their music, because M.I.A.: THE COMPLETE ANTHOLOGY proves that they were easily one of the best bands on the LA punk scene in the late 1970s. (According to legend, Crash's fatal overdose wasn't an accident, but a deliberate homage to his idol, Sid Vicious, in an attempt for gruesome rock & roll immortality. Unfortunately, John Lennon was murdered around the same time, and Crash's death never made a blip on the media radar.)
The aptly named collection begins with the astonishingly primitive, yet bizarrely compelling and genuinely hilarious, first single "Forming" (a later re-recording with X drummer D.J. Bonebrake closes the set). M.I.A. also includes the entirety of the chaotic, furious WHAT WE DO IS SECRET release and the streamlined, Joan Jett-produced GI album, plus six previously unreleased songs recorded for a film soundtrack shortly before Crash's ...
| | VH1 Presents The Corrs Live In Dublin CD (2002)
Group Sex CD music
$6.39 This audio document of The Corrs' Dublin homecoming concert has pretty much everything fans of Irish pop could wish for, including an appearance from Bono in his earthly incarnation, fresh from an audience with President George W. Bush. It's to the band's credit that the charismatic singer fails to steal the show, despite creditable efforts via an anthemized version of Ryan Adams' beautifully downtempo "When the Stars Go Blue," and a great, leering rendition of Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra's "Summer Wine."
Somewhat more mysteriously, Rolling Stone Ron Wood also turns up on what sounds dangerously close to a lounge version of Jimi Hendrix's "Little Wing," but this minor faux pas is redeemed by the Irish folk medley "Joy of Life/Trout in the Bath" which arguably features more full-on Irishness than the Dublin production of RIVERDANCE. There's also a lovely rendition of Neil Young's "Only Love Can Break Your Heart" ...

$7.49 A collaboration between drummer Jon Theodore (of the Mars Volta) and Zack de la Rocha (of Rage Against the Machine), One Day As a Lion combines leading elements from both those bands for a sound that is confrontational, bracing, and charged with political fervor. The group's self-titled EP contains only five tracks, but Theodore's drumming plus de la Rocha's vocals and keys supersede the sonic assault of most full-length albums.
Fans of Rage Against the Machine will recognize de la Rocha's fiercely intense style, which owes debts to both hardcore punk ...
