Stars in the Desert music CDs. This music might strike some as rather dissonant at first, with high-pitched violins and a ragged ensemble. But there is a unique texture to the traditional tunes here. The drone of the viola against contrapuntal violins makes the tension in these pleasant dances and laments quite intriguing; there is a deep beauty and soul to these performances that makes them a real delight. ~ Tim Sheridan
