Anthemic metal at its best, Mr. Big is an unashamedly romantic metal band that commands a loyal following. DEEP CUTS presents 16 of their best slow songs.
In the early '90s it seemed the radio could not get enough of Mr.Big's power ballad "To Be With You." With the rise of rap and short-hair rock, Mr.Big eventually disappeared from the airwaves. It seems that their fan base has not, however, so they have released a collection of their ballads (complete with short hair), including the big radio hit that grabbed them a lot of attention from non-rock audiences. The rockin' ballads on Deep Cuts are best considered as an early-'90s phenomenon, intended mainly for die-hard Mr.Big fans who refuse to let the band fade into the "where are they now" netherworld. ~ Diana Potts

Deep Cuts: Best Of Ballads album
$9.99 Guitarist Dave Mustaine was an original member of thrash-pioneers Metallica. But he was booted from the band during the recording of that band's debut album, KILL 'EM ALL. Instead of moping around, Mustaine returned to California and immediately formed another group--Megadeth. He promised his fans that the new outfit would be faster and more lethal than his former band, and Megadeth's 1985 debut, KILLING IS MY BUSINESS, AND BUSINESS IS GOOD, made good on this threat. Megadeth and Metallica duked it out in the music press, but both acts thrived. In 1986, each released its finest record, Metallica's MASTER OF PUPPETS and Megadeth's PEACE SELLS...BUT WHO'S ...
