Andrew lloyd webber's best
Phantom of the opera is a legendary production that has entered deep into the culture.A movie version based on the show has been made but,as good as it is,can't capture the excitment and beauty of this recording.Andrew lloyd webber has a written a beautiful, haunting score with many classic songs.Michael crawford's voice may be a bit strange, but it's perfect for the part and he is a much better phantom than the one in the movie.Sarah brightman gorgeous, operatic voice is a major highlight of this album and steve barton is perfect as raul. The grand orchestrations are great.Best tracks;overture, angel of music, phantom of the opera, the music of night, all I ask of you,masquerade/why so silent, wishing you were here again, the point of no return.

incredible
the music in the show is more than incredibly. it's haunting melodies and memorable harmonies are a stroke of genius, as are the words! the story dosn't exactly stick to the book -- which is a good thing. Weber's musical makes more sense than the book ever could!
if you haven't hear this -- DO IT! you won't regret it!

Best Music there is!
This is easy, I bought a second copy since I had scratched my first copy's cd. That speaks volumes about what I think of the music!
