This is the perfect introduction to the Mammoth sound: fourteen excellent tracks chosen by the band and mixed into one seamless, head nodding mix by label boss Porky. From the first album '10,000 Years Beneath the Street? to this year's 'Motion Without Pain' Baby Mammoth have developed from a studio based duo producing mellow digi funk and dub to a full band with jazzier overtones. Following on from their tour of the USA and Canada, Baby Mammoth performed a Saturday night headlining slot as a seven piece band at the Big Chill's Enchanted Garden 2000. American band Pavement are big fans of Baby Mammoth and the forthcoming 12' on Pork by their drummer under the name 'Marble Valley' will feature BM remixes.'
