True warm feel good music - Natural High This album has been a constant joy since 1973. I have vinyl in great condition and vinyl converted to FLAC. I also have this import but I prefer the vinyl. The CD seems slightly bass heavy. Submitted by Michael (Albany, GA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Timeless, at least for me This is one of those albums that upon hearing it brings me to my own place.
There are many songs that touch your inner spirit, but entire albums?
I've been to listening this album for almost 10 years now, and I'm only 30 years old (it is now 2004), Doing the math you will see this is not just a nostalgia record for those growing up in 1974.
It is one of those albums that are so pure that once you hear it it becomes your own.
It grabs you in the gut and brings you to peace (or it doesn't, I guess it depends on the person)
Anyways, I love this album and everything about it, even the cover.
Thank you Mylon and Alvin for brining in a major part of my life soundtrack to me.

It's About Time I've been searching for this CD for around 10 years now. My album from 73 is old and scratched so it will be nice to hear all these great songs again. I remember when I first heard he album I didn't care for it all that much as I was use to a harder rocking Alvin Lee. But in time the album took on a life of its own and became one of my favorites. My friends would listen to it and want a copy of their own. Now I know hat to buy all those old geezers who were rocking to this back in the 70's.It brings back some great memories! $10.15 A surprise best-seller when it was first released, this mostly improvised pairing of singer/keyboardist/producer Al Kooper with two major guitar heroes of the day sounds fascinating all these years later precisely because of the distance of time--nobody makes records like this any more. The material runs the gamut from folk pop (covers of Donovan and Dylan), to blues ("Albert's Shuffle," "You Don't Love Me"), to heady jams ("His Holy Modal Majesty"), to big-band jazz ("Harvey's Tune").
All the tunes make effective templates for the kind off-the-cuff music-making that in less capable hands might have resulted in simple noodling. In fact, although Bloomfield and Stills don't play together on any of the cuts (Bloomfield played on one side of the original ...

On The Road To Freedom album
$14.79 CHERYL LESCOM has been part of the Canadian Blues Scene for over 30 years. Starting off as a back up singer for Ronnie Hawkins and Long John Baldry, Cheryl has recorded, toured and performed with the likes of Jeff Healy, Matt Minglewood, Dutch Mason the Downchild Blues Band and more. After an absence to raise a family, Cheryl recorded two independent CD’s before taking some time off to recover from a bout with Cancer. HIGH HEELED BLUES is her first CD for flamingcheese records. The CD features 14 songs including “Queen Bee” written by Juno Award winner (and the CD’s producer and guitarist) Jack De Keyzer, “I Can’t Stand It” written by Mr. Downchild, Donnie Walsh (who guests on the CD) and “Beg Borrow Steal” written by Matt Minglewood. The first single “Heartache” features additional vocals by the Detroit Women and piano from Juno nominee Julian Fauth. As Hillary Clinton says “It takes a village to raise a child”. Well then I can say “it takes a village to make a CD”… and in this case, a WONDERFUL uplifting CD! Cheryl Lescom truly has a great talent and is now at the top of her game. Although she has been in the business for more than 30 years, High Heeled Blues is a beginning for Cheryl. Not a beginning in the traditional sense, but a beginning just the same. Cheryl has toured with many major recording artists and has paid her dues over the years. A couple of years ago, Cheryl was in the fight of her life (literally). She battled cancer with the energy and conviction that you will hear on this CD, and in true Lescom form, she not won the battle, but became a stronger more focused person determined to really live life to the fullest. Cheryl joined the flamingcheese family in 2005 to make a record ...
