Multi-million sales, a spell of 16 weeks at the top of the US chart, and winning Gold Disc and Grammy Awards were fitting rewards for this memorable recording of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II's much-loved musical which opened on Broadway in November 1959.
