Starring Johnny Depp as a dashing young drug dealer, the film BLOW is an inside look at the underbelly of the drug trade, '70s style. Accordingly, the movie's soundtrack is laced with post-hippie classics like the Rolling Stones' pulsating "Can't You Hear Me KNocking" and the Marshall Tucker Band's southern-rock love song "Can't You See." The song selection does jump back and forth in time a bit, reaching back to Link Wray's instrumental twangfest "Rumble" and Cream's psychedelic blues-rock gem "Strange Brew," and forward to KC & the Sunshine Band's disco-riffic "Keep It Comin' Love." Nevertheless, this is an admirably eclectic collection (who can fault a soundtrack that includes the Bob Dylan oddity "All the Tired Horses?") that serves as a fine companion to the movie.

This soundtrack is one of the best group of songs I have seen in a long time. It brings back that 70's vibe and fits the movie perfectly. The music is a good collaboration for everyone..and I strongly suggest this album.

Though they began their career practicing an artier, more theatrical variant on Led Zeppelin's heavy rock sound, Queen was always capable of much more. Ultimately, Freddie and the boys were popsters at heart, and capable ones to boot. A NIGHT AT THE OPERA is where they begin to show their eclecticism and compositional facility.
