Powerful jazz-rock fusion with a touch of funk, WIRED is Beck's follow-up to the popular BLOW BY BLOW. Extending on the blues breakthroughs he made with the Yardbirds, Beck's style had by this time crystalized into something lyric and soaring, showing the influence of John McLaughlin and The Mahavishnu Orchestra, while retaining the slightly manic edge that has remained his trademark.

If you don't already know, this is one of the real achievements in music history. Thirty years later, this album still gives me shivers! WOW!

This album changed my life,from the rocking front and back cover photos you knew someting wicked was coming. "LED BOOTS", need I say more? That solo stll to this day leaves me walking down the road talking to myself and twitching. His take on the Mingus classic "Goodbye Porkpie Hat" sends shivers down the spine. "Head for backstage pass" is a below the belt musical explosion. If you are an aspiring guitarist, don't argue with me, and get WIRED.

This is the album on which Beck got everything running in the right direction. This is a better album than Blow By Blow, although the two together are a classic combination. What makes this album so good are the performances by the Jan Hammer and the other side men. Incredible drumming, bass playing and keyboard work. Beck is at his best as a melody maker too. Difficult to beat.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE ROCK WORLD MEETS THE FUSION WORLD HEAD ON!!!BLOW BY BLOW WAS THE BIGGEST OF HIS CAREER,SO WHEN YOU'RE HOT YOU'RE HOT,DO THE SAME THING AGAIN!..JOINING FORCES WITH JAN HAMMER WAS A GOOD MOVE,BOTH HAD FUSION ON THEIR MINDS,THOUGH BECK DOESNT WAIL ALA MCLAUGHLIN..HIS APPROACH IS MUCH MORE ENJOYABLE ESPECIALLY TO THOSE WHO DON'T NECCESARILY LIKE FUSION/PROG!!..AGAIN GEORGE MARTIN'S PRODUCING,BUT WITH LESS HANDLE ON IT.NARADA MICHAEL WALDEN SHOWS HIS TALENTS NOT ONLY AS A DRUMMER BUT AS A SONGWRITER.BECK KNEW NOW, WHO TO SURROUND HIMSELF WITH!

Simply the best rock fusion album ever made. Not only is Jeff superb,but he's accompanied by Narada Michael Walden at the peak of his drumming career,and the awesome Jan Hammer. Led Boots has more energy and passion in it than any other track on any other album. If there's a better example of this genre,I've yet to hear it. Essential listening
