$6.69 Rod Strong was born and raised in Providence, RI. He grew up in a close knit family, with a strong Italian-American background. At a very young age, he showed an undeniable interest in music and performing. He was always entertaining his family and friends, which started to pave a path toward his future to live his dream. In his mid-teen years, he developed an eagerness to expand his musical horizons and knowledge. He decided he wanted to be a Hip Hop DJ. After only a few years, Rod Strong found himself spinning for popular radio stations, night clubs, and opening for some of the hottest concerts and events. He soon built a solid reputation as one of the most popular and sought after DJs in New England. In 2001 he was crowned "Rhode Island's Best Club DJ" for Rhode Island Hip Hop Awards. He discovered he had an ear for music, creating beats, rapping and writing lyrics. He had a vision of creating and recording his own music. He decided to go for it. Rod knew it was time to apply all he had learned and discovered within himself musically, and set forth to make an album. Rod Strong is an amazing songwriter, producer, and performer bringing so much creativity, originality, and uniqueness to the table. With catchy lyrics and memorable hooks a style all his own bringing a hip hop/pop/r&b sound for all to love. In 2002, Rod Strong entered a contest presented by WWKX Hot 106.3 FM, in which he performed his original material against thirty acts from three different states and became the grand prize winner, crowning him "Talent Track 2002" and awarded him studio time with DreamWorks. In 2005 his long awaited debut album ROD STRONG 'The Album" was released on his own independent label High Horse Entertainment. It was a smash, receiving nationwide radio play and rave reviews from critics. ROD STRONG 'The Album" sold many copies worldwide, and still continues to sell. He opened up for major artists and began performing in massive arenas at radio station shows nationwide. Joining acts such as 112, Jagged Edge, Outkast, Eve, Ludacris, Timbaland & Magoo, Tyrese, Lil' Mo, Mashonda, Bubba Sparxxx, The Ying Yang Twins, Jadakiss, B2K, Sean Paul, Pitbull, Fat Joe, and Naughty by Nature just to name a few. Since his freshman album, Rod has opened up for major artists performing in massive arenas at radio station shows nationwide.
