A Glorious Four There are a few recordings of this by-now "chestnut" that stand out in a field of available CDs that never seems to stop growing. Harnancourt's on Teldec is one, and this new entry by Fabio Biondi easily belongs in this select company. If you think you're overly familiar with this music, listen to this performance and be prepared for a revelation. Biondi did similar fine work in Vivaldi's Op. 3. His prospective on old masters works are interesting not only for it's contemporary vision but also for his unique rearrangements of old Masters compositions, at the same time, respecting the standing integrity which the old classical masters always represented.
