Who needs Peter Gabriel or Phil Collins???
This is Genesis was Steve Hackett was Genesis since he gave the true Genesis sound. Let the other former Genesis waste their time with silly pop while Steve Hackett proves what Genesis was really about

Genesis Rocks on!
This is the best Genesis tribute DVD ever made. Former Genesis member Steve Hackett really shows he was the true memember of Genesis unlike 80's pop garbage which was a disgrace.

Prog Rock SUPERGROUP
This is a fantastic concert featuring Steve Hackett of Genesis fame. He's assembled an unbelievable supergroup with unquestionable pedigree: Chester Thompson on drums (Zappa, Genesis, Weather Report); John Wetton on bass and vocals (King Crimson, Roxy Music, Family, U.K., Asia); Ian MacDonald on flute, vocals and keyboards (King Crimson, Foreigner); and Julian Colbeck on keyboards (Brit studio guy, and touring keyboardist for Anderson, Wakeman, Bruford & Howe among others). The band basically does the biggest "hits" of their prospective bands, as well as a huge pile of Hackett's solo material. But picture Wetton's vocals singing "Watcher of the Skies", "Firth of Fifth", "In The Court of the Crimson King". This is amazing stuff. The band is tight as hell, they sound inspired, and the production of this DVD as well as the cd are impeccable. If you like prog of old, you'll love this.

Good musicians playing old progressive rock songs
This is a great opportunity to appreciate the old-Genesis feeling with the electric and Spanish guitar of Steve Hackett. Accompanied by the bass and nice vocals from John Wetton (King Crimson, Asia, UK), the versatile Ian McDonald (King Crimson, Foreigner) with his flute, sax and keyboards, Chester Thompson on drums (Weather Report), and Julian Colbeck introducing the concert with the first lines from “Wathcher of The Skies” on keyboards. They play songs from old-Genesis, King Crimson, Asia, Steve Hackett, etc.
On the DVD you can watch more things than on VHS. For example, some of the history of each of the members of the band and finally an 18 minutes rehearsal of the band!
On the other hand, I must say I would prefer a better version of “I Know What I Like” and the DVD could sound better with a 5.1 sound.

Steve Hackett hits the mark
A must for all progressive rock(Yes, Genesis, King Crimson, ELP...) fans. Having seen many shows live from the above bands over the years this is a great production. The camera angles and sound are excellent by comparison to other tapes done by these artists. Being a musician(drummer)myself I'll give you a quick performance review. All songs are performed well. Watcher.. has a funkier beat than usual but still comes off well. The Court of the Crimson King is performed to perfection, thanks to Ian's flute break, killer vocal harmonies, and dynamic playing by all. Steve also throws in the guitar break from "Dancing with the moonlit night" during Los Endos. I've always loved that break!!! Anyway, you get the picture, just buy it. JG
