UK reissue of 1994 album for the British heavy metal act, remastered from the original tapes. Deluxe packaging with rare memorabilia, photos & interview with guitarist Brian Tatler. 2001 release.
The 2001 edition of DEATH & PROGRESS includes in the liner notes an interview with Diamond Head guitarist Brian Tatler. Diamond Head: Sean Harris (vocals); Brian Tatler (guitar); Pete Vuckovic (bass, background vocals); Karl Wilcox (drums). Additional personnel: Tony Iommi, Dave Mustaine (guitar); Eddie Moohan (bass). Producers: Diamond Head, Dave Mustaine, Max Norman, Andrew Scarth. Engineers: Brad Davis, Mark Dearnley, Simon Efemey, Andrew Scarth. Recorded at Music Station, Birmingham, England. This 1994 remastered reissue of U.K. metal band Diamond Head's DEATH AND PROGRESS features 10 tracks, including "Starcrossed (Lovers Of The Night)," "I Can't Help Myself," and "Damnation Street." Despite showing great promise with their awesome debut Lightning to the Nations, New Wave of British Heavy Metal stars Diamond Head apparently "lost the plot", as they say in England, changing direction and churning out a couple of mediocre albums before fading into apparent obscurity. Luckily, their sound influenced many bands and their legend kept increasing after the band had broken up, eventually promting them into a reunion. 1993's Death & Progress seems to fulfill what Diamond Head failed to achieve ten years earlier: Combine their heavy metal roots and aggression with a more concise, if slightly commercial style of songwriting, resulting in what can be loosely defined as a melodic hard rock album. Nowhere is this new-found balance more apparent and effective than in "Starcrossed (Lovers of the Night)," which opens with a gorgeous melody before climaxing in a virtual thrash-out. Other stand-outs include "Damnation Street" and "Truckin'," while "Run" is simply a phenomenal hard rock single and serves as a great conclusion (?) to an interesting career. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia

$18.39 ANIMA MUNDI, the 2004 release from Euro-metal band Dionysus, includes "Bringer of War" and "Paradise Land." Swedish version adds two extra songs. Arriving exactly a year after their perfectly average debut, Dionysus' second album, Anima Mundi, pushes the limits of surefire lawsuit to the breaking point by slapping the semblance of Viggo Mortensen (in full Lord of the Rings Aragorn regalia) on the statue gracing its cover. It also ...

$7.35 ED ROBINSON “SMOOTH & ROMANTIC” PPM Productions, Inc.This is a very special project.“Smooth & Romantic” was recorded in several countries throughout Europe & Scandinavia. A lot of great talent came together to complement a true Artist, Ed Robinson.Ed is a singer, musician, arranger whose performances in Europe and Scandinavia and Africa have been favorably recognized by “London’s Business Weekly” Magazine(England), “British Air Flight Magazine” and Chief Entertainment Editor of “The Michigan Chronicle,”Steve Holsey, Personal complements also came from Quincy Jones, George Benson, Isaac Hayes,Samuel Jackson to name a few. This collection of songs include standards written by some of the greatest composers and originally performed by some of greatest perforomers of all times. One such song, “All The Way,” composed by Sammy Cahn & Jimmy Van Heusen, was one of Frank Sinatra's personal favorites. Another great but rare ballad, “Everything Happens To Me,” written by Matt Dennis and Montgomery Adair, was recorded by both Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra. Not to be excluded from this “Smooth & Romantic” collection of great & timeless songs is the beautifully written masterpiece, “A Cottage For Sale,” composed by Larry Conley & Willard Robinson. This song was recorded and made popular by the great voice of Billy Eckstine. The beautiful ballad, “There will Never Be Another You,” composed by Mack Gordon & Henry Warren, performed by the Ed Robinson Jazz Trio,is a great example of interpretation with a replenishing splendor, aged by time, that grows increasingly sweeter with each play. One song, of the remaining seven written and arranged by Ed, deserves special attention is, “If Only.” During the session, in Nurnberg Germany, Ed was accompanied by two lovely guests; Diane Elias & Nancy Harmesten. The angelic voices of these two international Opera Divas produced a richness ...
