The finest example of perfect disco pop, and a record that should be prescribed to musical snobs and manic depressives. The album is a true ambassador of what pop music can be. Jackson whoops and dances through a suite of unforgettable melodies that should be danced to with a smile on your face. Each track offers at least one musical hook, whether it is the beauty of 'Human Nature' (who can resist the 'dada dada da da da') or the 'whoo whoo' of 'Billie Jean'. It's all too good.
Off the Wall was a massive success, spawning four Top Ten hits (two of them number ones), but nothing could have prepared Michael Jackson for Thriller. Nobody could have prepared anybody for the success of Thriller, since the magnitude of its success was simply unimaginable -- an album that sold 40 million copies in its initial chart run, with seven of its nine tracks reaching the Top Ten (for the record, the terrific "Baby Be Mine" and the pretty good ballad "The Lady in My Life" are not like the others). This was a record that had something for everybody, building on the basic blueprint of Off the Wall by adding harder funk, hard rock, softer ballads, and smoother soul -- expanding the approach to have something for every audience. That alone would have given the album a good shot at a huge audience, but it also arrived precisely when MTV was reaching its ascendancy, and Jackson helped the network by being not just its first superstar, but first black star as much as the network he

$11.49 Tony Hooper was born and raised in Northeast Mississippi. Being a ministers son, he grew up in church. Music was a big part of the Hooper family. Tony started playing guitar around age 7, and writing songs at 12. Tony started his own contemporary christian band in high school called "Heart and Soul." The band did one recording which helped launch Tony's ministry. Moving to Red Bay, Al in 1988, Tony teamed up with Lindell Cooley, who mentored him in the area of modern worship. Tony lived in the church basement for 7 years, and became the music minister at Calvary Temple when Lindell moved on. During this time Tony recorded two more projects, "The Shepherds Field" in 1992 and "Month of Sundays" in 1996. "Month of Sundays" earned Tony a place on the Country Christian Charts with the song "One God." 1996 was an awesome year! Tony married his wife, Alicia, and to date they have two children, Madison and Olivia. Tony is an ordained minister, licensed by World Missionary Evangelism, a missions organization dedicated to taking the gospel around the world. Tony's travels include: Italy, Israel, France, Ukraine, Mexico, and all over the US. A missions trip to Italy with Rock Christian Artist, Rick Cua, landed Tony a life long friend, ...
