A true comeback album, Aerosmith's PERMANENT VACATION featured the original line-up, and it gave the band its first top 10 hit in a decade ("Angel"). Thanks to Tyler & Perry's ground-breaking collaboration with Run D.M.C. in 1986 (on Aerosmith's old hit, "Walk This Way"), the band's visibility was high. The rehabilitated band took advantage of that opening with this album, a batch of hard rock songs that recalled their glory days of the 70s.

All tracks have been digitally remastered.

Recorded at Little Mountain Sound Studios, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

4 stars Rebirth
"Done With Mirrors" was supposed to be the band's comeback album but failed. "Permanent Vacation" was a comeback and also a rebirth. The band's raw sound was gone forever with this album. This album is very polished with a lot of great songs. It contains the hits "Dude (Looks Like a Lady)", "Rag Doll", and the huge power ballad "Angel". The title track is also a great song. I think this was the band's best album they had done at the time.

Classic on par with Toys in the Attic. Love the modern sound and imporived songwriting. Great Album.

5 stars Don't call it a comeback.....
This album came out when I was a sophomore in high school. The ENTIRE album is awesome! We had heard of Areosmith, but if not for this one we would not have bought tickets to the tour and heard all the other classics live. Still Hangman's Jury is the best song!!

2 stars The Beginning of the 2nd Greatest Sell-outs of All Time
Metallica being # 1, of course. A legendary hard rock band from the 70's puts this crap out after getting off heroin and underage girls? Embarrassing.

4 stars Great Album
The second record on the Geffen Era, it paves the way for the succesfull reentry of America's Greatest Rock Band in the charts of radio and popular music. It's a big choice for gain new fans form the 80's. The hits "Permanent Vacation" & "Dude (Looks Like a Lady)" become classics in Aerosmith's discography. And tracks as "Simoriah" and "The Movie" are beautyfully played, and the last track is an example of writing an excellent instrumental song.
