Mdma Vol. 4 album
$14.60 The title of this 2008 release, and the cover art--a b&w photo featuring Seal in a suit and tie crooning into a microphone--should give listeners a fair idea of the album's nature. A glance at the track list, which includes soul classics by Sam Cooke, Al Green, Curtis Mayfield, and Otis Redding, confirms the supposition. Seal has been settling more comfortably into his role as an adult contemporary singer, and SOUL, on which the British vocalist interprets 12 American R&B gems in elegant fashion, finds him fully inhabiting the niche once and for all..
Seal may yet join the mainstream ranks of Rod Stewart and Michael Buble with his sophisticated covers and accessible sound, but his singing on SOUL is still full of the passion and intensity that characterize his earlier material. His take on Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come" is a case in point, as is his heartfelt reading of Mayfield's "People Get Ready." ...
| | T I Paper Trail CD (2008) Explicit Version
Mdma Vol. 4 CD music
$14.69 After a year on lock-down for illegal machine gun possession, the self-proclaimed king of the south channels his personal strife into his introspective sixth studio album, PAPER TRAIL. The title stems from T.I.'s decision to return to writing his rhymes down on paper; the lyrical craftsmanship shows as the ATL icon delves into personal issues--speaking on his legal troubles ("Ready For Whatever"), his prison experience ("You Ain't Missing Nothing"), and his fallen homies ("Dead and Gone"). T.I. also collaborates with former rival Ludacris for the grandiose "On Top of the World," speaks on the cannibalistic relationship between rappers' personal lives and their art on "My Life Your Entertainment," and joins Kanye West, Jay-Z, and Lil Wayne for the bombastic posse cut "Swagga Like Us." Production comes courtesy of Drumma Boy, DJ Toomp, Rob Knox, Jim Jonsin, Just Blaze, and Swizz Beatz, among others.

Mdma Vol. 4 album
$12.75 "Un-Break My Heart" won a 1997 Grammy for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, and "You're Makin Me High" won a 1997 Grammy for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. "You're Makin Me High" was also nominated for Best R&B Song, and SECRETS was nominated for Best Pop Album.
German version has three additional cuts, "You're Makin' Me High (T'Empo Mix)," "Unbreak My Heart (Classic Radio Mix)," and "I Don't Want To (Frankie Knuckles Radio Edit)."
Toni Braxton is one of the most promising divas of the '90s, with a sophisticated sound and traditional R&B style that puts her in a class with Whitney Houston and Anita Baker. With the help of R&B's leading songwriter, Babyface, she can deliver the perfect love song (such as "Let It Flow," which also appeared on 1995's mega-hit soundtrack WAITING TO EXHALE). SECRETS, her second album, is a soulful journey through her heart.
SECRETS combines Braxton's sultry vocals with the genre's more creative producers. Tony Rich paints the background of "Come On Over Here," Babyface and Groove Theory's Bryce Wilson beef up the track for the hot single "You're Making Me High," and R. Kelly provides the soft bump-and-grind sound for "I Don't Want To."
SECRETS is filled with original material. No samples. No remakes. And with a debut album that earned her the 1994 Grammy for Best New Artist, it is no SECRET that Toni Braxton is destined to repeat her success.
Her multi-platinum smash second album with remixes of threehits from it added as bonus tracks, 'You're Makin' Me High'(T'empo Mix), 'Un-Break My Heart' (Classic ...
